YL announcer at the end of the Midnight Radio broadcast states this program is from 1993.

Thanks for the program and eQSL!

Tidying up some old computer files and found these four recordings from almost exactly a year ago. All are Chinese, and all from 6865 kHz right around local sunrise here in the Washington, D.C. area. If anyone cares to have a listen and confirm or correct my assumptions about them I'd be grateful.

This one (19 Nov 2021) I am virtually certain is CNR jamming Sound of Hope, because of the five time pips at the top of the 1200 hour (near the end of the recording):
https://soundcloud.com/blue-max/unid-chinese-6865-am-1134-1200-utc-19-nov-2021?si=a64eadcdde3444fda9db1c7cf2baa1be&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

But then, after almost exactly two minutes of dead air at the top of the hour, I caught another, much weaker Chinese language broadcast from 1202 to 1232. It is very hard to hear, but there are some (maybe) intelligible snippets, especially in the last ten or twelve minutes. Is this Sound of Hope?

This one (22 Nov 2021) the first 7-8 minutes are pretty listenable, after that it becomes tough copy. Probably also CNR. Curiously, around 4m 40s you can hear "Pop Goes the Weasel" in the background:

This one (26 Nov 2021) I am also virtually certain is CNR because of the five time pips at the top of the hour (near the end of the recording):

S9 or so here at 1458, but so is the noise, resulting in a weak but readable signal with some fading. Two OM ops. One calls ZIP codes a governmental satanic number, then both talking about union shops. Also a new catch for me - both TRI and the old time program they are relaying.

157
0144 Distorted audio/spacey sounds. It's a good signal here, S7/9.
0158 Now sounding like badly modulated Gregorian chant...
0201 Thought I heard someone say "God damn you" but I can't be sure. Too much noise on the band and the signal is deteriorating.
0204 "There is nothing wrong with your television set" (Outer Limits)

Popping up above the noise every once in a while, but basically unlistenable now.

158
Hearing it near Washington, D.C. Weak signal but clear and somewhat audible. S5.

Heard "there is no democracy" repeated over and over, and the phrase "21 inch screen and howl about America and democracy."

This is taken from Ned Beatty's speech in the movie Network.

YL with phonetic WPAR ID at 1952, then gone.

159

0058 Interval signal
0100 ID then Huey Lewis and the News, "Heart of Rock and Roll"
0103 Bill Haley and the Comets, "Rock Around the Clock"
0106 Elton John, "Crocodile Rock"
0110 Chubby Checker, "Limbo Rock"
0112 Rick Derringer, "Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo"
0116 Danny and the Juniors, "Rock and Roll is Here to Stay." Band conditions have improved considerably here.
0118 ID with E-mail addy then David Essex, "Rock On"
0122 Chuck Berry, "Rock 'n' Roll Music"
0124 Righteous Brothers, "Rock and Roll Heaven"
0127 Peter, Paul and Mary, "I Dig Rock and Roll Music"
0130 ID then KISS, "Rock and Roll All Nite"
0133 Reunion, "Life Is a Rock and Roll." Band conditions deteriorating again.
0136 ID then Bad Company, "Rock Steady." Barely above the noise now.
0143 ID barely audible.
0145 Gone below the noise now.

Thanks for the show!

Loud and clear at first, then ran into heavy UTE interference and occasional dropped carrier problems.

Strong and steady signal into the Washington DC area. A little hard to hear at times due to static QRN.

0204: She Wants Revenge, "Tear You Apart"
0209: Bauhaus, "Bela Lugosi's Dead"

0227: Rosemary's Baby theme
0237: Exorcist theme
0241: Various eerie noises and evil laughter

Heard about a half hour near the end of this broadcast. Presumed to be Outhouse Radio, based on final SSTV and OM announcer's voice sounds like previous Outhouse broadcasts.

0111: Gregorian chants
0115: N3URO, "Venom"
0119: Gregorian chants
0123: N3URO, "Disturbia"
0128: OM announcer says "You didn't really expect something normal, did you?"
0129: The Goddamn Gallows, "Y'all Motherfuckers Need Jesus"
0131: OM announcer says "Maybe it was Outhouse and maybe it wasn't." Shoutouts to HFU posters. All voiced over previous song.
0132: Back to Gregorian chants.
0136: SSTV - "One Dog Ha Ha" then back into chant
0139: SSTV - "Outhouse Radio" then OFF

Thanks for the show:

Caught the last twelve minutes. Good signal, pretty clear.

0024: Tail end of The Tokens, The Lion Sleeps Tonight. WJAN ID then Bob Seger, Ramblin' Gamblin' Man
0027: Dusty Springfield, Only Want To Be With You
0029: The Wonders, That Thing You Do. Announcer says he's turning up the power as it has cooled off in the studio.
0032: Bobby Pickett, Monster Mash (second playing)
0036: Getting hot again, running full power, shutting down then OFF.

Thanks for the show!
