I never had the DX-160 but I did have a DX-150A.  As for frequency readout <heh> I used a BC-221 for that little problem.  The BC-221 was great, the DX-150A no so but it kept me listening and that was all that counted...

I recorded this in the AM mode because more of the sound could be heard in that mode but I suspect it isn't really AM.  In the USB mode it sounded more like a fast tick tick sound.

The signal was quite strong with occasional fading but it never dropped any wheres near the noise level.  Any ides?

BTW  Some of the sounds I have been hearing that sound like OTHR but remain on one frequency remind me of the sound of an MRI machine.  I know all too well the sound of an MRI and I will be getting a refresher course in about a weeks time <sigh>

China is now feeling the effects of trying to be the biggest and best in the world.  Much of the new construction there is being built with paper and not 'real' money.  Over all they are in a major financial pinch and of course that doesn't even mention the fact that their money is way over valued.

When the money is gone can war be far behind?  We can only wait until the next shoe drops...
