Still going.  This sounds like Christian music and there have been mentions of Canada.  After a little Googling, I found this which *might* explain what I'm hearing: http://www.chimfm.com/  and then this Facebook mention from June 24th:

Quote
CHIM RADIO 1710 AM IS PRESENTLY BEING RELOCATED TO OUR NEW 150 FOOT TOWER IN SOUTH EAST TIMMINS TO SERVE OUR CITY BETTER.  CHIM RADIO CELEBRATING 20 YEARS ON AIR AND ON LINE.

Looks like CHIM has several low powered FM stations throughout Canada, but I question the legality of this 1710 operation.  If this is really coming from Timmins, Ontario then I probably shouldn't be hearing it way down here in Michigan.  I don't know what the rules are for Canadian Part 15 AM stations (is there such a thing?), but I'm guessing this one isn't running legal power.

This is strange but it almost sounds better when using FM mode, which leads me back to a harmonic but 855 khz x 2 doesn't make sense.

Someone here playing music, fairly consistent signal but badly over-modulated.  Best here in LSB to dodge the IBOC hash from the new 1700 station.  Some announcements between songs but the speech is very difficult to understand due to the poor modulation.  Anyone else hearing this?

Massive signal here, first noticed on 6935, then this happened:

and finally settled on 6915, at least for now.  Thanks UNID Thumper!

MW Loggings / Re: Maybe Australia on 1629 kHz

It's unlikely to have good props towards the South Pacific and China at the same time, at least from my experience trying to DX these signals from the midwestern US.  Run your app overnight against these signals and I bet you'll see them start to fade in around Australian sunset.

Nice work Chris!  These are all trans-pacific stations you're seeing carriers for, and more specifically, probably all Aussies, the 1629s for sure are.  The 1521 is likely Australia too or the New Zealand station, but I suppose Asia is possible but it wouldn't be the Saudi powerhouse at this time of day.  You'll find a bunch on 1611 too, also low powered coming from down-under land.  1548.01 usually has the best carrier strength here coming from 4QD in Emerald, QLD.  I actually had decent audio on this one earlier in the year during sunrise.  Surprising to me is that these high band down-under signals are always best on my North D-KAZ as opposed to my southwest BOGs which do better for the Aussies at the lower end of the band.  The goal now here is to confirm reception of one these low powered Aussies in the X band.  Almost had it last Wednesday morning when conditions seemed to peak.  Conditions this week have been unimpressive here, but the chase goes on!

Not near the resolution that you're achieving Chris, which looks great BTW, but here's a close-up view of 1629 kHz spanning several minutes captured here last week.  Note the four dominant carriers that stand out, and the high one might have multiples underneath if I could get the resolution tighter.  There's about 10 low powered stations on 1629 kHz in Australia, most listed at 400w.  You're seeing 4 of them here as they peak at my local sunrise.  'Tis the season for Aussie MW DX!

Great stuff Chris.  I look forward to the results when you have your 10 mhz reference connected, especially on the saw-tooth carriers.

Very weak music here right now at 0245 UTC, too weak to ID it.  Frequency drift up to 6953u mid-song at 0249 UTC.  Possible canned X-FM ID at 0251 UTC (on 6955u now).
