Tuned in at 0300z to Eagles - Lyin' Eyes.  AR ID at 0305.

Weak signal tonight, just above the noise.  Maybe S3 at best.

I was tuned away and missed the first SSTV image but got a noisy decode on the others.

This may just be a drunk ham but is still a pirate none the less.

Been playing music non-stop for over 2 hours now, just about everything from Little Richard to The Cars.  No IDs or call letters or announcements of any kind.

Really nice audio on an S9 signal.

Off at 0917z after the national anthem.  This guy belongs on 43 meters!

General Radio Discussion / Running Android apps on a Windows PC

My cheap Android tablet died tonight while listening to XLR8.  Rather than make a late night run to Wal-Mart, I decided to see if there was a way to run Shazam on a Windows PC.  After a bit of searching, I found an Android emulator for Windows  called BlueStacks App Player.  Downloaded and installed it, logged into the Play Store with my Google account, and installed the Shazam app.  Everything worked perfectly and I was able to ID most of the obscure music that XLR8 played tonight.

Although I have only used it to run Shazam, the BlueStacks web site claims that it will run 96% of the Android apps out there. YMMV.

S9 on peaks but lots of deep fades as well as garbage from the peskies on LSB.

Sounds like Johnny Cash at 0345.  Off abruptly at 0349.

(Hollywood, FL) Oct. 21, 2014 – Global 24 Radio LLC announced today that its inaugural broadcast will go live at 7:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31, with a line-up of new and well-known programs and around-the-clock English language programming.  The broadcast can be heard 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 9395 kHz on WRMI broadcasting from Okeechobee, Florida.
