Whoops! I forgot about the out of band legal stations when I posted this. I guess short-wave.info has some slightly out of date schedules because the only thing it lists for 5830 kHz is WTWW and that’s not on right now.

Weak signal with the signal cutting in and out (it is very quick so I think is is transmitter issues not fading). Listening with a kiwiSDR in Santarem Portugal.

Music then a man talking in English with a British accent. Station ID given but I couldn’t make it out due to static. After the announcer there is more music but it is to weak to ID.

You are hearing the Indonesian chanters. It is not know for sure what they are doing but is most likely a contest to see who is the loudest. I have observed that there is one person who seems to run it and a large group of chanters. Once the chanters are done the person running the contest plays back a recording of the chants. They are active every morning. They are very strange. Google “Indonesian chanters shortwave” and you will find some more information.

Shortwave Broadcast / Re: NEW Country SW Log!
« on: March 28, 2022, 0426 UTC »
Wow, that is some impressive DX! I don’t see reports of reception of radio logos very often. Peru is a very hard country to hear on shortwave. Here in Canada I have yet to hear any Peruvians. The only low power Latin American stations I can get here are Rádio Clube do Pará (5 KW, Brazil, can be heard with very weak audio every night) and “La Montana Colombia” (? KW, Believed to be from Colombia). I can only get “La Montana Colombia” when noise is very low and even then it is extremely weak. It doesn’t help that along with the low power most Latin Americans sign off before it is dark enough for DX on 60 meters this time of year.
