So where does this leave me?

I'm a graduate of T.I.T. aka The "Timtron Institute of Technology"

And I belong to the " I Felta Thigh" frat...

It's not like I...

Damn I forgot what I was going to say...

Sorry...

<sigh>

Thanks Chris... :-)

Some time someone should write up a short blurb on propagation conditions from the view point of folks like we SWL'ers.

It's all well and good that the Government does these studies but what the hell are the good of them?

I know computers...  I've worked with some big ones IBM360 etc, I know how they are limited and you can't get a good working model without all of the variables... can't happen, but these reports toss out so many known variables it isn't funny... not to mention the unknown variables.

Something like the Sun, weather and climate just don't work well with computer models... I know because I've been there... no joke...

Point is, I am sick and tired of these jackasses that think computer models are the be all and end all of everything.  Have these people ever studied 'rounding errors'...  In science your best guess might work and often does but is it correct enough to make the computer models work right?  I think not, in fact I know not...

<sigh>  I'm tired... to hell with it...

Another one... here's the first paragraph or so:

]  Predicting the peak amplitude of the sunspot cycle is a
key goal of solar-terrestrial physics. The precursor method
currently favored for such predictions is based on the
dynamo model in which large-scale polar fields on the
decline of the 11-year solar cycle are converted to toroidal
(sunspot) fields during the subsequent cycle

Enjoy ::)

This is a 15 page document that I figured some of you might want to read.  My biggest question is... Why didn't they ask us what the hell is going on.   :-\

Please give a comment on this one... (as he said with that stupid grin when he suspects something is wrong)

"The Panel is today releasing
predictions for
•
The impending solar minimum
–
Marking onset of Cycle 24
–
Provided basis for the other predictions
•
The peak sunspot number expected for
Cycle 24
•
The time of the peak sunspot number
•
What follows is the consensus of the panel"

SO?  What do you think?  Are our tax dollars working for us with the computer projections?

Keep in mind the theory of Chaos ...    :P

GPS isn't the only thing that can cause a lumber truck to end up in a swamp.

A number of years ago the 'guys' were trucking fir logs down a certain area with a very sharp curve in the road.  If you took the curve easy you would be fine but if you took it hard and lost control you and your truck would end up in one hell of a swamp.

To make a long story short, there was a pretty little Lady that lived just a ways before that curve.  Now this Lady had a very very adequate bosom and she would sit out by her mail box and when she heard one of those trucks a coming she would make sure the trucker got a very good bouncy look at two of the best nekkid yahooos those guys ever saw...

Sure enough... another one bites the swamp...

BTW folks, Ladies can go topless in public in Maine...  There is no law against it...

So it ain't just the GPS that causes problems  :P

I've heard stories about drones flying about with mini-cameras on board checking out the Ladies sun bathing...

Now whom in our little group would do such a thing?  Not I because I got my own little Lady to look at...  so who could it be?  Any ideas???

Is it any wonder why I don't watch TV?  Honest guys I don't,  I read books instead and not the popular BS.  I just got so tired of being told how I should think.  I leave that to the other guy.  I guess that makes me a rebel outcast...  So be it... <sigh>

If the 'news media' would just tell it like it really is instead of dumbing stuff down to a 6th grade level or making so many lies to CYA some big shot that is paying their way through life.

The 'news media is nothing more than a political outlet (aka: rectum) for whomever is lining their pockets with $$$.  Whatever some political phool will make money on is their thing...  As John Lennon said; "Give me some truth!"

But it has become so bad now that if the general population heard the truth just once...  they, most likely, would keel over with a heart attack.

The politicos make folks focus on some idiotic 'doomsday' situation that has no... absolutely no,  standing in fact nor logic...  What have we become?

Sorry folks... I'm in one of my moods.  Time for me to hit the books on quantum physics again...  AHhhhhh  Math.... goooooooddd!

Heck, I was planning to send up a drone that would hit those plasma junk heaps with a blast of EMP...

That will fix 'em  ::)
