Hearing some music, signal is equal to noise at this point; waiting for the band to open.

1312 "You Got To" - Groove Armada
1323 "G-Force" - The Prodigy
1326 ID, but all I could make out was, "This is ....."
1327 "Relax" - Frankie Goes to Hollywood (didn't need Shazam for that one)
1338 "You Spin Me Round" - Dead or Alive (again, Shazam not needed).
1406 Carrier off.

Based on the music and frequency, I'm guessing this may be Liquid Radio.  The reference to 97.7 FM is another clue that this is probably Liquid Radio, as their website mentions that frequency.

Can hear some rock music, weak signal here in NY.  Only S2-S3 at the moment.

Signal just improved dramatically to S5 at 1502 UTC.  "Hand Jive" in progress.  Sounds like George Thorogood.

Shazam says "Click Click Boom" by Saliva at 1505 UTC.
1510 "You Get What You Give" New Radicals
1515 A little bit of "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" by Daft Punk, then a change in programming.  Some kind of announcement, or a radio drama.
1517 "Chocolate Salty Balls" from South Park
1520 "Dedication" Thin Lizzy
1525 "Jamming"  The ionosphere is very unsettled right now.  Signal is slowly fluctuating between S2 with a lot of noise, to s6.  Audio sounds real good on the Bob Marley tune.
1528 "Hair of the Dog" Nazareth
1532 Sounds like Robin Trower - "Day of the Eagle"
1552 "Not For Sale" Girlschool
1556 Signal just to a serious nose dive right into the noise.

Nice selection of music, and good audio when the signal was at S6 level.

Received this great QSL for my reception tonight.  Thanks "Azimuth Coordinator"!

Tuned in at 2134 and just heard the end of a Talking Heads song, now "Pulling Mussels from a Shell" by Squeeze.  S7-S8 in NY.  49 meters is propagating much better right now compared to 43 meters.

2140 UTC "Radio Radio"
2143 "Politics of Dancing"
2146 "Red Skies"
2150 "The Reflex"
2155 "Relax"
2200 Heard a weak voiceover, could only make out sixty one fifty kilohertz
2201 "Remember the Nights"
2204 "Rio"
2210 "Rip Her to Shreds" one of my favorite Blondie tunes from their first album!
2213 "Rock Lobster"
2218 "Safety Dance"
2223 Having local QRN issues at the moment. Signal was starting to get weaker.
2226 Switched to an online radio, now with "Save a Prayer"
2229 Song by the Cars
2232 Another voice over, heard pirate radio and Facebook
2238 "Senses Working Overtime" - Still listening to remote receiver.  Too much local QRN on my radio now.
2243 "Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll"
2246 "Sex"
2256 "She Bop"

Right after a strong USB station closed down, I heard some weak audio in AM mode.  According to Shazam, what I heard at 2142 UTC was "Heartaches By the Number" by Guy Mitchell.  SIO 232 in NY.  Weak talk by OM at 2147 UTC.

36
Have a weak signal here, playing what sounds like country and western at 0322 UTC.  SIO 333 in NY.  Could it be the Fruitcake Station?

I've got a decent S7 carrier on 6942.4 kHz in NY, but that's about it.  At times I think I hear some audio, but it could just be my imagination.  Anyone else receiving this?

Not sure yet if this is a US pirate, Europirate or a legit (Radio Bayrak International?) station.  I hear pop music, but summer static is making it difficult to copy the song.  Dave Valko has reported hearing a station here in the past, possibly Radio Blue Knight.  After posting this, I will check some web radios to see if the station if based in Europe or not.

QSLs Received / Beacon Station "Common and Precious" QSL Card
« on: August 07, 2015, 1854 UTC »
Received this high quality QSL card via snail mail today for my reception back on March 21, 2015.  QSL #2 (I guess Chris Smolinski got #1?).  Only my third pirate beacon QSL.  Thanks Zazzle!

Got a chance to tune in earlier today, and I'm hearing the beacon again at 2300 UTC, although the signal is weaker, and the noise is higher.  Hopefully the signal level will pickup a bit as we approach sunset.

41
It's been awhile since I had a chance to tune in for this one, but I got it straight away.  Signal seems to be a bit stronger, and the dot and dashes a bit faster than before.  So it's possible it's someone else.  Can anyone else that knows code tune in and translate the message?

42
Not really a pirate, but definitely the spirit of pirate radio.  Heard them with "Runaround Sue" when I tuned in, some announcements by a male DJ, then a quick taped ID at 2258 UTC.  Weak signal at the moment, so it's hard to copy the talk, but the music fades up enough to recognize the songs.

43
I'm hearing this beacon again tonight.  It seems to only appear for me around dusk.  Signal is weaker than last week.

44
Making the trip across the Atlantic again tonight.  Very slow CW.  Signal may have been a bit better last night.

45
Sounds like a Dutch station, could be either Abu Dhabi or Borderhunter.  Pop music at tune in, and brief announcement.  S6 signal in New York, but strong audio is punching through the static.

And of course, as luck would have it, they signed off at 2352 UTC, right after I posted this message.
