Many thanks for the info. I'm just getting back into shortwave after a 33 year break!! There are a lot of interesting things out there that I didn't tune into back in the early '80s. Is this very slow morse normal for them? Cheers...

Hi,
I've been on 8484(U) since 15:00UTC - twenty minutes now - and there is a signal that sounds like extremely s-l-o-w morse. Any ideas what that could be. Interesting though not terribly exciting!!!!

Thanks - that's so cool. Wolverine is coming into Wolverhampton, England fairly strong now....

Hi, could this be what I am currently listening to over in Central England? It's pretty weak but "Save The Last Dance For Me" was playing at 01:40, followed by Dancing In The Street

I recently acquired a collection of radio station pennants dating back to the late 1970s / early 1980s, which included a number of duplicates. I though it best to see if anybody out there has any duplicates they would like to swap for any of them. They are as follows:

TNVN - Voice Of Vietnam (14.5cm x 8cm triangular with yellow border) Excellent condition
UAE Radio And Television Dubai (22cm x 10cm triangular) Good condition with a little light staining
UAE Radio And Television Dubai (22cm x 10cm triangular) Good condition with a little creasing to the point
UAE Radio And Television Dubai (22cm x 10cm triangular) Fair condition with a few moderate creases
IBRA (17cm x 10cm triangular) Good condition with a little creasing to the corner
Radio France International (20cm x 10cm triangular) Good condition with a little light discolouration
Radio Pyongyang (23cm x 11cm triangular) Excellent condition
Radio Pyongyang (23cmx 11cm triangular) Good condition with two pin holes and slight fading
North Korean flag (20cm x 11cm rectangular) Excellent condition
North Korean flag (20cm x 11cm rectangular) Excellent condition
North Korean flag (20cm x 11cm rectangular) Good condition with two pin holes and slight fading
Radio Canada International (24cm x 11cm triangular) Excellent condition (Blue RCI + logo)
Radio Canada International (24cm x 11cm triangular) Good condition with a few small marks (Blue RCI + logo)
Voice Of Turkey (20cm x 11cm triangular) Good condition with a little light discolouration
Voice Of Turkey (30cm x 18cm triangular) Fair condition with some lightish discolouration and fraying to the edges.

Feel free to contact me if you require further information on any of them. Please note, these are for SWAP only - not for sale. Many thanks....

Shortwave Broadcast / Re: Who is under WWV 15000?

There are a few clips of Italcable (15000) on youtube, but the one I've been listening to recently is different to these. The pitch of the beeps remains constant on these, and the music is very prominent. It is definitely an ascending pitch that I've been listening too (I am listening to a recording of it right now on my phone) but the brief musical interlude is very quiet and muffled - even when the signal is coming in strong, so you will probably not hear it on a weak signal. Though the actual voice of the announcer sounds different to the youtube clips, the content is exactly the same.

Hi,
I regularly come across an Italian time signal station on 15000. On each five-second cycle, there are four beeps that rise in pitch, followed by a double beep. There is a time announcement every minute - eg ora tre e quarante cinque. On the hour, :15, :30 and :45 there is an ID announcement and a website address in morse: www.associazioneitalcable.it After a brief musical interlude, lasting approx twelve seconds, and a sound resembling a fax machine message, the beeps resume.
Regards,
Glen
