Just to confirm that this image is the front cover of the classic reggae album Heart Of The Congos by The Congos, produced by the legendary Lee 'Scratch' Perry. It happens to be one of my very favourite albums of all time and, coincidentally, I had just done a search on ebay for the band literally two minutes ago.  :o

Thanks Pigmeat. Still coming in strong at 21:20... but family duties call!!!

9
Is anybody else hearing this broadcast? It's coming into Central England reasonably well (3-4-3-2-3) and free from any jamming by the sounds of it. Much clearer than I've heard it before. Can anybody confirm its identity? Thanks

Shortwave Broadcast / RADIO DJIBOUTI - 4780khz - 17:35UTC
« on: January 07, 2015, 1741 UTC »
I am hearing Radio Djibouti (4780khz) in Central England for the first time in a number of months. Still waiting for a definite ID but the signal has strengthened over the past 20 minutes, so I remain hopeful.  ;)

Old Sea Rock - same here in Central England. I can hear music but it's impossible to make out the tracks. However, the signal has improved slightly over the past ten minutes or so.

13
Black Bandit signed off at 00:03 with "I Dreamed There Was No War".

My son Joe and I are listening to Black Bandit on 6305 - coming in clear and strong to Central England but closing down soon.

I made a ten minute recording of the signal I was listening to on 8484(U), to try and decipher it. The length of each tone varies between approx 1 second up to approx 11 seconds, most being 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 seconds.

Here is a part of it (hopefully the tone lengths are accurate!!):
2,2,3,2,2,3,3,3,1,3,2,2,2,1,4,3,1,1,3,1,5,1,7,3,2,3,2,5,2,6,3,4,2,4,4,4,6,3,2,2,1,3,2,1,1,2,1,1,3,3,5,4,7,4,4,3,4,6,2,2,3,6,6,2,2,5,5,2,2,1,3,2,8,5,3,1,3,4,4,1,3,4,6,2,3,1,3,6,7,4,2,2,4,2,2,6,1,2,6,6,2,3,4,4,8,3,2,2,1,8,4,1,11,1,3,6,6,2,4,3,3,5,2,5,2,5,3,3,3,2,1,5,4,2,1,7,3,1,4,6,1,3

Any explanation of the the length of the tones would be very much appreciated....
