DGPS / DGPS Logs 1/19/2017
« on: January 19, 2017, 1614 UTC »
Again a few less decodes but Cape Ray, NL and Cape Canaveral, FL are new for me.

This weekend I will post logs from  several different times and see how the propagation differs.
These logs are from about 0500z when I get home from work. Decoding from live audio is a tedious
process and only in a short time frame! SDRs must be very nice for this.

Longwave Loggings / Beacon Logs 0545 UTC 1/17/2017
« on: January 17, 2017, 1627 UTC »
I added 50' to my Longwire antenna, 150' total length now.
It made a difference. I usually pick up only 5 or 6 beacons
at best.

Equipment / Longwire antenna
« on: January 11, 2017, 1825 UTC »
I want to extend my 100' longwire to 200' to help on LW.
With the limited space on my property I will have to go
out 100' then a sharp 90 degree angle out another 100'.

Will the sharp angle be a problem or should I keep it at 100'?

Reading up on this a lot of people insist a longwire MUST be straight,
even for receive only.

I think it won't matter much and will improve my LW reception.

Anyone have a longwire set up like this?

Thanks
