VEF-SIGMA 260 1980s USSR Shortwave Radio
« on: October 23, 2022, 0241 UTC »
I am interested in selling a VEF-SIGMA 260 Shortwave Radio w/Cassette. I have too many radios and no longer use this one. I prefer to sell it to another SWL enthusiast vs. eBay.

I do not know the value and I am open for offers.

Located in Georgia USA.

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using an SDRPlay RSP1A for SWL with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet. Kenwood TS-570D for ham use.

Is this radio worth anything?

Maybe its worth something to an ex-Soviet person who wants one for nostalgia?  Or I bet somebody who likes cassette tapes would love it because its different.  Cassettes are cool vintage now, or at least they were a couple years ago with the coffee drinking, mechanical typewriter toting, lumberjack-clothes-wearing hipsters.

The label on the back says it cost 311 Rubles. In the 80s that was a lot of money.

And the wait for one must have been a year or two.
