Any Interest in a Program Archive?
« on: December 02, 2013, 2225 UTC »
From another thread...

Quote
Greetings HFU.. Where can I upload this show for download or streaming?
Qsl's will come later this week. I only received 1 report by email!

I can create an area on the HFU where operators can upload studio quality versions of shows. Is this something folks would be interested in?

I would vote yeah....with a few reservations.

I wonder if this opens up to much "false logging"---where someone uses the recording rather than using the "real" noise filled broadcast?

I can see many pro's to this however. Only one con so far.

I vote yes.  I've got literally hundreds of hours of studio copy, mostly in wave.  I could kick a MP3 version of a few favorite shows toward the project.

False logging should not be a problem as long there is a reasonable time period between broadcast and upload. I wanted to upload my last show due to the fact conditions were so bad.. (even though I put the fire to the wire!)... :)

I would be very interested.  There are several - predominantly left coast - stations whom I have never heard very well.

To be able to hear their shows, or at least clips, in greater detail would be a good thing.

I've still got all of the old original Maple Leaf Radio studio masters I'd be happy to contribute. I was planning on starting up again but the Bunneh bunch shut me down so I'd be happy to share them here.

Yup, I'll throw in my lot as well...

It would also be good for me to hear stations that went off air before I got into radio listening properly.
