UNID beacon 7998.86 CW 0008 UTC 26 Sep 2016
« on: September 26, 2016, 0009 UTC »
While looking for Hiker and friend, I noticed something on 7998.86. I could be sending a CW message or repeating a letter, difficult to tell as it is barely audible or visible on the waterfall.

Anyone else noticing this?

I might be hearing and seeing it on argo this morning.  I first noticed it at 1700 utc on 7999.300~ and by 1730 utc it had drifted down to 7998.900~.  I am getting it as a 10 sec dash with dashes separated by 5 secs.  When it got to its strongest point I am seeing a short dash followed by the long dash.  Its now drifted down to 7998.800.

Nothing here yet this evening, I'll continue to monitor the frequency. I do notice some Link-11 just above 8000 kHz tonight, unfortunately.

Update: Now it's back, at 2300z. Too weak to tell what it is sending.
