Wolverine Radio 6960 USB 0103 UTC 23 December 2018
« on: December 23, 2018, 0103 UTC »
Just happened to catch the interval signal while looking at SDRs. OK signal on west coast of North America. SINPO 34344. Some OTHR just lower in frequency.

0117 - "Why Do Fools Fall In Love"
0129 - "Won't Get Fooled Again". Propagation is shifting and the signal is weaker.
0215 - SSTV
0217 - off the air

Tuned in at 0106utc, weak signal with low noise. Old 78rpm acoustically recorded disc, then tune from late 1920's or early 30's. Variety of tunes with the word "fool" in them. At 0115utc country and western tune then Wolverine ID then 50's oldie "why do fools fall in love". At 0119 Ricky Nelson "poor little fool". At 0122 "chain of fools". At 0127 "won't get fooled again". Will Wolverine be back on xmas eve or xmas with secular (non religious) seasonal tunes?

Drake R8, Kenwood R-2000, Panasonic RF-4900, Sony 2010, Realistic DX440, Grundig Satellit 500, 7mhz backyard dipole, Mt Prospect, IL 20miles (32km) NW of downtown Chicago. I have been using online receivers because of strong data hash interference in my neighborhood that I believe is caused by Uverse squeezing up to 100mb/sec through ordinary pairs of wires. I don't have Uverse but neighbors do. williamhassig@yahoo.com

0109 - S9+ in west Michigan.  Glad I was recording!

0115 - Hank Williams "Fool About You"
0116 - Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers "Why Do Fools Fall In Love"
0118 - Ricky Nelson  "Poor Little Fool"
0121 - Aretha Franklin "Chain of Fools"
0124 - The Doors "Ship of Fools"
0127 - The Who "Won't Get Fooled Again"
0135 - James Ray "If You've Got To Make a Fool of Somebody"
0138 - Steely Dan "Only a Fool Would Say That"
0141 - The Main Ingredient "Everybody Plays The Fool" at S8 now with fades
0145 - ? (Can't make out the lyrics - will have to go back to recording).  Signal dropping to S7.  Link-11 signal at 6942.5 playing havoc with rx.
0147 - The Rolling Stones "Daddy You're a Fool to Cry" sounding much better on the FTDX3000 than the SDRPlay RSP1a.  Still fading though.
0152 - The Grateful Dead "Ship of Fools"
0158 - The Doobie Brothers "What a Fool Believes"
0201 - Ry Cooder "Trouble You Can't Fool Me"
0206 - Joe Jackson "Fools in Love" -- S8 peaks in a noisy environment, falling all the way to S6 at times.
0212 - Diane Birch "Fools" with some significant fades.
0215 - ID into SSTV

Great show tonight.  Sounding good.  Now I can start my vacation :-)

Thanks for another great show, Wolverine

Hearing music as of 0119 UTC. Not great, but fair.

Of all the pirates logged on this board today, this is the first one I'm hearing definite audio from out West here.
