KiwiSDR SSTV decoding
« on: June 16, 2019, 1850 UTC »
A total n00b question here, but what is the trick to decoding SSTV images on a KiwiSDR using the SSTV extension? I have had zero luck getting it to work.

Realistic DX120 with random wire
Various vintage Portables
Transmitter: Yaesu FT757GX

If I'm on a kiwi SDR, I run MMSSTV with the soundcard set to internal sound (in my case, on my Windows 10 laptop that setting is "microphone array" but used to be called something else before I recently updated Windows 10 to the latest version). Any SSTV decoding app should have a similar setting. I don't bother with any kiwi SDR settings other than the volume. I haven't any idea what the SSTV extension is supposed to do. I hope this helps.

Does it work for you on test image?

I did finally figure it out. The main point is the extension must be open when the start of the file begins, or it will not decode an image.

Yes, that is correct and sometimes frustrating.  ;D
