Radio True North 6940 AM
« on: June 02, 2012, 0441 UTC »
6/2/12, 6940 AM, 0440z: U2 "I Will Follow", Radio True North ID, Avril Lavigne "Sk8er Boi".
Fair to good via western remote tuner, just a carrier at home.
0447z: RTN op live on mic, mentioned trying to find requested song for the turntable, spinning vinyl tonight.
0448z: Information Society "What's On Your Mind" (sounds like Pure Energy mix)
0508z: "I Feel Love", the late great Donna Summer, very good signal via Alberta remote tuner

Heard ID's at 0647 and 0655 and pop music.

I came back at 0706 and caught "True Colours" and "Take My Breath Away" (woohoo! Something I recognized!), then ID and chatter... then the band crapped on me :(

Lying in bed with the E5 with the telescopic.

Peace!

SDR recording catch. Looks like sign on was 0411z, with very poor copy here due to local t-storms, even though the signal was about S9, since the noise was also.

The signal had improve somewhat before sign off time of 0802.

Thanks for the show!
