Not a pirate. This is a licensed hospital station in Loughborough, UK.

I know that. Not even a hobby station.
Though, a fine catch, a programme often inspired by the offshore years,
and a low low power !
Not a 'HF underground', but a 'MF underground', not even listed in the WRTH !
So, included as useful info for low power chasers.

It's running more ERP than it is licenced really and pushing the limit with its aerial so it nearly is a pirate. Only supposed to cover a town yet you can hear it across the UK

Yep, I guess that Carillon Radio has more power than allowed by a LPAM licence.
But also that nothing has changed since the gone years, when the giant Bolshakovo transmitter was sending 2.5 MW in a high gain antenna to the West. That was the strongest signal at night, and that probably justified a power increase of Carillon Radio on the same channel just to be heard in the hospital.
