Thanks for the great report Bill! Maybe all this solar flare activity is actually helping!

PCO came sliding up from under the noise around 00:30. Weak but there and fairly solid. 13563.50 16FEB24 00:30z Airspy HF+ Discovery 60ft SE/NW longwire.

Nothing else much in the band this afternoon other than CODAR, the usual constant data stream at 13560.8, and the Russian RTTY station in and out on 13558 KHz. Quite strong.

HexY2K quite strong here throughout the afternoon. Even copyable on the handheld DeepSDR 101 clone. Evidently plenty of sunshine where it is as we have here today. Faded out around 22:30z. 6700.40 KHz 14FEB24 22:30z Airspy HF+ Discovery 60ft SE/NW longwire.

Turned DYG off for a while this afternoon to check 22 meters. PCO is weak but there with moderate fading. Getting up on top of the ever present CODAR which is fading up and down as well. There are a few other glimmers in the band but PCO is the only one I can pull out. 13563.50 14FEB24 21:45z Airspy HF+ Discovery 60ft SE/NW longwire

Evidently I spoke too soon. It is in there now and quite strong, some fading but strong on the upswing. It is a bit lower in frequency than usual and drifting up and down, clouds and sun on the solar panel maybe? 6700.39 KHz 09FEB24 20:57z Airspy HF+ Discovery 60ft SE/NW longwire

Have not heard HexY2K the past few days, which is unusual. I can normally hear it here every day.

HF Beacons / Re: The Desert Whooper
« on: January 11, 2024, 1922 UTC »

A few thoughts based on the OP's description of DW.  I think the frequency would be 4095.700 KHz, centered on the CW signal, but not 4095.720KHz, centered in the middle of the whoops. The whoops start at .700 and sweep upwards. In warm weather the CW is at 4095.650

Thanks Jim, I had actually dialed up a bit to center on the CW and the whoops sweeping upwards from 4095.720. Probably time to recheck my calibration.
