Found a Russian digital station on 6215 a few months ago. Signal type identified by ulx2.
It was on 23 April, search for 6215 and utility on this forum.

I don't doubt that.  I'm just agreeing with the original poster that using safety of life/distress/emergency frequencies is a bad idea.  Transmissions on those frequencies will be noticed by folks who don't want interference on those frequencies.  Why risk transmitting on an emergency frequency when there are lots of other frequencies available?

At times at the weekend that band can very congested with pirates in Europe. Fortunately most ops know to keep these frequencies clear.
I only know of 2 cases in recent years of pirates being raided for transmitting on distress frequencies. One in the UK a few months ago and a Dutch op some years back.

FM Free Radio / Re: Pirating in the Netherlands

I think many of the FM pirates here use 3/4g to link. You can even use it to turn the TX on and off remotely (I think).
I have one of those 10 GHz links here. Never used it though since I got it over 10 years ago.

If Ireland -- as a policy -- allows unlicensed broadcasters to operate in the country, without penalty or enforcement action, those stations are de facto legal.

What makes a pirate station a pirate station is that it's illegal.

Reflections Europe isn't a pirate.

It is illegal, thus it's a pirate. To be pedantic, RE isn't a pirate but the operator of the transmitter is.

The regulator in Ireland usually only reacts to pirate stations if they receive a complaint, either of interference or, in the case of FM, from a licenced station.

CB is licence exempt.
WPAS, which uses frequencies just above the CB band, is used mainly by the Church to transmit services to the local population and requires a licence.

About an s7 across the pond.

Also receiving it on my very cheap 12 band radio with only it's 2 foot max whip.

Massive signal, s9+40 but distorted audio on audio peaks. Splatter at least 20 KHz either side due to this fault.

edit of subject line : from 'Religious broadcast' to 'Reflections Europe' (Ray)

Why does that come today ?

Kris probably forgot the change the information saved in the topic box from a previous posting.

High s6 noise here but making out instrumental music at times. Would be listenable except for the noise.

322
s9+20 db.  Music

323
s9 here, Looking out my back Door.

324
Just checked after my previous posts. Weak, music and male voice. Static making ID impossible.

325
Nice signal here despite the static. s9 and very clear.

326
Very weak. Trace of music (I think) under extremely noisy static crashes.

Nothing else receivable on this band here tonight,

27.385 active for me today LSB. I could hear 2 sides, one was Austria, not sure about the other, possibly N America. Plenty of other stations on 26 and 27 MHz. Not strong but very clear. Good condx.

I seem to be getting 2 stations on this frequency. AC/DC is predominant. The Who with audio dropouts.

329
Nice signal here, usual good audio.

edit by Ray : ID confirmed

I think this a licenced BC transmitter.  Open to correction.
