Utility / United 991 Phone Patch (and a commentary)
« on: October 10, 2010, 0417 UTC »
AT 04:05z on6640u NY ATC provided phone patch for UAL 991 (Ghana to Wachington DC), with Chicago dispatch so that they could provide frequencies for contact with Santa Maria ATC.  They were provided frequencies 3016, 5598, 2899.

Commentary: WTF!!!      Even I, or most posters on this board, could have told them that!  Who the hell is flying that plane that didn't know the standard trans-atlantic frequencies for Santa MAria???? ???

On a happier note the UAL transmissions came through fine from just off the African coast!

ID'd as "WXMN FM 89.5" as best I could make it out.  A lot of DJ bantor between spinning tunes. Steady S6 into StL.  I assume some sort of rebroadcast, good show!

Ah, they just gave some shouts to some Grapevine posters, so I guess this is live. (22:10z)
