Started listening a little before sunrise and watched as the PV numbers ramped up and drove the BAT  numbers up between 6 and 7 AM PST:

PV / BAT
0 / 12.8
20 / 12.8
205 / 12.8
495 / 13.4
790 / 13.5
982  / 13.9
985 / 14.1
1081 / 14.3
Signal strength here at home is very good. Before this I had to use SDRs to hear it

Very cool, great idea to chart what the sun does to the PV values  :D

HF Beacons / Re: New dasher beacon at 7999.10?
« on: February 28, 2021, 1946 UTC »
I have a fairly strong and solid dasher/ditter (kind of in between the two) about 1 second intervals on 7999.09 here, checked the Sedona, AZ Kiwi and it is very strong there. Also have it on the TorC, NM Kiwi, no joy on the Ft. Collins, CO Kiwi. There is a two second dasher right next to it at 7999.00, weak and fading both here and on the Sedona Kiwi. Tried the KFS Kiwi but it is busy with the max users right now.

This was at 19:30 UTC, at about 19:39 the one second dasher on 7999.09 suddenly went QRT both here and on the Sedona and TorC  Kiwis, or it very quickly faded out in all three places. Still hearing the two second dasher on 7999.00.

Saw the first glimmers of DW in the waterfall at 23:00 UTC, too weak to copy at the time but now at 01:01 UTC it is blasting in. Hitting -90 dBm at times and sitting at a solid -85 with very little fading. Nice whoops lighting the waterfall into the red.

DW has been noticeably stronger here in the past week or so than ever before. Prior to this I was never able to get much of a usable copy on it but the early evenings especially now it has been blasting in. It is fading on me now to the point I cannot copy the telemetry but I am checking in on it quite a bit later in the evening than I usually do.

Fairly strong here for the past half hour but starting to fade now. I have never had great copy on this one but the whoops were hitting S7 a few times, best I have heard it. Typically Murphy chimes in though and it fades just as the telemetry comes up. This telemetry is a little shaky with rough copy but...

Listening on both SDRs at the same time, one on the horizontal long wire and one on the vertical. Fairly similar signal levels and fading between the two antennas. Beacons in stereo :D

Quite windy out at Windy this afternoon, the anemometer is getting a workout. Same here at my location.

Got it here weak this afternoon on the longwire. Compared it to KFS on the SE antenna, same signal somewhat stronger than what I am hearing here. 22:38 UTC 20 FEB 2021

HF Beacons / Re: Marin ditter 4096.85 KHz
« on: February 08, 2021, 0423 UTC »
DGG...,

I have never had the MarinDit beacon that high in frequency - it might drift 20 Hz plus/minus from nominal frequency of 8193.75 kHz due to the "cold to hot temps" in the attic there, but not so high as 8194.59 kHz!

THAT would be 4097.29 kHz or so (if it is a second harmonic of one of the many beacons I am now hearing here between 4096.2 and 4097.3 kHz)!

MarinDit "dits" about 88-89 per minute.  I DO hear a slow-dasher and a fast dasher on about 4097.3 +/- since listening the past 3 days...

It is not MarinDit if it is a fast-dasher, as I capture here, BTW.  73

Thanks Steve, sounds like I got fooled for sure! I have logged most of the "desert beacons", Colorado, and others over the years but never the MarinDit so got a little over rambunctious. Manty of my loggings were out camping "getting outta town" for the low noise floor and a couple of years ago I moved to a rural area where I now have that low noise floor and real antennas here at home. I do miss the three beacons that used to sing their harmonies around 4096, it was always a peaceful escape to hear all three singing through he night with a nice campfire blazing.

73 and thanks for the clarification, I will keep looking for the real MarinDit.
