Hi Alex - For us abroad, we have a problem to recognize what the intentions of new stations like R. Evropa UA or R. Provocator RU are. However, we hope that this is the pursuit of freedom in a spirit of a world free from police terror. We are looking with some distrust.
Help us because you are in this cauldron of change.
Hi Kris!
Please forget about "pursuit of freedom" in the case of russian pirates. The last illegal broadcasts of really russian origin were transmissions on 6210 kHz several years ago. That were pro-stalinist broadcasts supporting invaders and separatists on the occupied territoies of Ukraine, with lot of anti-Ukrainian, anti-American and anti-Semitic content. And this is not an isolated case: another russian pirate station Radio Samorodinka, which was supporting nationalist-communist forces against President Yeltsin during russian constitutional crisis of 1993, and medium wave pirate Radio Nadezhda were also pro-communist ones.
The last russian nonpolitical real SW pirate station became silent in the late 90's.
And, as far as I know, there never been any political SW free radio with a pro-democratic content. That's all you need to know about current state of the russian pirate scene.
So, if even this scene could revive in a future, it would rather be a mouthpiece of chauvinistic and anti-democratic propaganda.
