North American Shortwave Pirate / Re: SSTV 2307Z 6925U
« on: June 10, 2012, 2326 UTC »

This was transmitted 3 times beginning at 2301z.  This was my best decode of the three.
Copied in AM mode.

The first pirate I ever heard was the Voice of Ganymede.  I don't recall the year although I'm reasonably sure it was pre-1979.  I had an old National receiver that I had picked up at a hamfest, with a hunk of wire strung up around the room.  I had their QSL as well, but it was lost long ago during one of many changes of residence.  I wish I still had it, as well as that old NC-2-40D receiver!

Don't know if it was the same op, but heard "Love is the Drug" at 0253z on 6925u, then off.  Nice signal here, about S9 or a little above.

S6 - S9 here.

Andy Walker with Channel Z ID at 1312z.

Thanks CZ!

On and off here since 0302z.  S9+10 signal and the audio ain't bad either.

On at 0251z with Marvin Gaye "Let's Get it On".  Cream "Tales of Brave Ulysses" at 0255 then off with no ID.

Nice signal but the audio was very weak.

Tuned in at 0158z, just in time to hear an XFM ID, into BOC "Godzilla"

Steady S9 signal tonight.

Thanks XFM!

On about 0101z.  Heard bits of "Who Are You", "I Need Love to Keep Me Happy", "Sunshine", "Mama Told Me Not to Come" with multiple IDs.

Well above S9 at times, but frequent fades into the noise.

Thanks Captain!

Here as well, with a S9+30 signal. Better than most BC stations.

"Nowhere Man" at 0005z.

Just got home and fired up the radio, Renegade playing "We are 138" by the Misfits at 0514z.

Nice audio and a strong S9+ signal.

Thanks for the late night punk show!

Still going...

I got the SSTV as well, but noisy decode:

Got mine in today's mail.  Looks great!  Thanks, Andrew!

Tuned in at 2256.

2256z Pink Floyd "Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In a Cave and Grooving With a Pict"
2300  Primus "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver"
2303  Patty Smith "Gloria"

Seems to be off at 2313 without an ID.

Nice S9+10 signal!

On at 0002z with Hendrix "Voodoo Child".  All Hendrix tunes so far, "Crosstown Traffic" at 0016.

Nice S9+ signal here beating out the static crashes from local t-storms.

Thanks Captain!
