Shortwave Broadcast / WJHR 15555 USB 1711 UTC 16 JAN 2023
« on: January 16, 2023, 1713 UTC »
Weak signal <S2, but very good audio considering.  Religious programming.

Just noticed it here (Central MD) at 1620 UTC or so .  AM, up to S3 with some fading but pretty good signal considering the time of day and frequency.....

Best description....'elevator musak'.  LOL

have it in Central MD with some deep fades.

Caught the tail end of the broadcast starting ~1600 UTC.  OTA sometime < 1620 UTC 25 NOV.  Was a decent S2-3 signal in central MD with some fades (typically right during the station IDs!).  Thanks for the show.

Fly it circles over the Kremlin, jamming all frequencies with a Russian dubbed version of Randy Newman's "Short People".

Was going to suggest offensive Rick-rolling, but no….your way is better.

Chris, have you picked up this guy yet?

0031 UTC: on air, S3.  Various intros "Please stand by"
0033 UTC: The Distance (Cake)

0028Z: station ID WDOV? WDOG?  WBOG.  Some modulation issues i think.  S4, reception improving.  Somehow fades manage to hit as the ID is read phonetically.....

0118 UTC:  caught the tail end of the show.  Lots of static, bouncing around S2-3.

Good lord did someone hijack a commercial rig?
0100 UTC:  Station ID as Radio 48.  Coming in at S7 with a 10kHz bandwidth in central MD..
0216 UTC:  Faded below S3.  Thanks for the show!

Hints of it on the waterfall in central MD but can't make out the audio yet.

Guessing this is a pirate...AM signal but bad modulation.  Unless it's just noise or something else....

2024 UTC: Good signal S3 or so, modulation is still very rough.

General Radio Discussion / equipment auction

For once, facebook sent me an ad that was actually relevant....pointing to an online auction for some radio gear.  Since my dream of picking up a boat anchor for pennies has been squashed, i thought i'd share the love...
