Listening to CADS / WPAS parish radio broadcast on UK FM CB channel 16, frequency 27751 kHz FM 27751.25 NFM. 

Strong audio, some very minor fades.  SIO 444.  S9 on peaks, mostly hovering around S7-S8. 

At 1925 UTC, you can clearly hear the church background audio, people talking, a sporadic cough...other background chatter.   

Some minor QRM from SSB chatter on 27.745 MHz USB as well some weak SSB chatter on 27.755 MHz LSB.  27.75125 MHz FM is the strongest signal by an order of magnitude though.

Substantial fade down to S5 at 1927 UTC...followed by a nice jump up to S9+10dB for a few moments.  Full quieting FM signal, very good audio especially considering this is 2 or 2.5 kHz deviation! 

CADS / WPAS channel LW16 FM or UK FM CB 27/81 FM CB channel 16. 

Bandwidth at highest FM deviation around 8 kHz or 9 kHz or so.  Can safely call this 10 kHz bandwidth.

Via G8JNJ SDR receiver.  29875 FM [CSQ].  Carrier squelch, no CTCSS (PL) or DCS (DPL) in use.  CSQ. 

Very strong signals, sounds like Japanese language chatter on 29.875MHz.  One of the more active Asian fishery frequencies, 29.875 is Channel 100 on the 480 channel 27.500 MHz - 39.475 MHz [25 kHz steps, sequential channel numbering) radios.  29.825 MHz, 29.900 MHz, 29.925 MHz, 30.025 MHz, 29.775 MHz, 29.750 MHz and many others are also very popular.  29.825 MHz and 29.875 MHz are both in the "top 10" both locally for me here on the East Coast of the USA and via remote receivers located in the UK and mainland Europe.  One of the characteristics of these systems is the use of 25 kHz or 12.5 kHz spacing frequencies and carrier squelch.

Heard via UK based remote SDR receiver - G8JNJ "Flydog SDR".  First tuned in at 1030 UTC (1130 local time to the SDR). 

Lots of Italian language traffic popping up on the 26 MHz/27 MHz CB radio band (11 meter band).  Activity noted on "Channel 45" or Canale 45 - frequency 27.465MHz AM.  AM voice traffic in Italian noted on 27.475 MHz AM as well.

Interesting frequency choice.  Whistling is pretty popular as a "selective calling" method over HF SSB marine nets. 

8281.2 kHz does fall within the legal 8 MHz marine band allocation 8195 kHz to 8895 kHz 8.195 MHz to 8895 MHz. 

Going by the ITU channel plan / band plan, 8282 kHz is the closest "channel" but those are more like guidelines than rules. 

8282 kHz is part of the ITU dual use (simplex for ship to ship, duplex or "split" operation for ship to shore radio) channel plan, specifically channel 830 frequency 8282kHz USB 8.282 MHz USB (ship transmit) paired with 8806kHz USB 8.806 MHz USB.  For ship to ship purposes, using a single frequency is the common practice, and makes the most sense.

The ITU actually only has a handful of designated simplex frequencies on the MF and HF frequencies:

Most of them are in the 2 MHz and 4 MHz bands.  8MHz band only has 8294 kHz and 8297 kHz, plus numerous frequencies in the shared fixed/mobile allocation 8000 kHz to 8195 kHz sub-band: 8101 kHz to 8191 kHz - much like the 4 MHz simplex frequencies 4000 kHz to 4060 kHz (3 kHz spacing - 4000 kHz USB, 4003 kHz USB, 4006 kHz USB, etc.)

These are apparently part of Russian military channel markers (well, a new series of channel markers).  Music (including the Soviet National Anthem, a rock version of the Soviet / Russian National Anthem, various WWII (sorry, I meant The Great Patriotic War) patriotic songs including the famous "Katyusha", sound effects including buzz buzz buzz (think UVB-76 / "The Buzzer" on 4625 kHz), an air raid siren, an alarm, what sounds like a tennis racket or ticking clock or other similar sound, the "pip" and other feeds. 

At various times, the recording loop is cut off and messages are sent.  These signals have been heard by numerous listeners and a large number of them are on YouTube

Via the G8JNJ SDR online receiver.

Tuning around the 6.6 MHz band, including the 6200 kHz to 6525 kHz marine band and the 6525 kHz to 6765 kHz aeronautical band. 

6640 kHz LSB - French language chatter.  Out of band bootleggers (freebanders) Echo Charlie EC 6.6MHz pirates 45 meter band 45m 45 metros band 6,6 MHz band.  6635 kHz busy with Dutch language comms.  Apparently 6635 LSB is also popular with fishing fleets out of the Nordic countries.

6660 kHz USB has very distorted music at 1932 UTC.  Presumably also Echo Charlie / 6.6 MHz freeband ops

Received via the G8JNJ SDR on the SW UK coast.

6980 kHz LSB, 6985 kHz LSB and several others.  Noting a "buzzer-like" signal on 6978 kHz USB or 6979 kHz USB mixing with the voice comms on lower side band.

Lots of Italian comms on this frequency, especially 6980kHz USB.  6.980 MHz 6,980 MHz USB Italian comms pescadores or freeband or out of band guys.  The 45 meter band is very busy in Europe - 6.6 MHz band or Echo Charlie pirates.

Good signals, originally tuned in around 1900 UTC...they're going strong nearly 30 minutes later.

Two or three stations having very informal QSO about engine problems, talking about making food at 1923 UTC.

Tuned in via the G8JNJ SDR, location: Southwest UK. 

Lots of UNID two-way comms all over MF/HF.  Could be groundwave, or close to it...given the frequency in use, time of day and season.  SIO 444 on the best signal.

Nice catch, the use of FM for land mobile comms by most of the Latin American LMR users is uncommon...at least below 30 MHz. 

Usually its AM mode, and 26.5 MHz 26.500 MHz is an interesting frequency choice too.  26.500 MHz FM vs. say 26.495 MHz AM or 26.505 MHz AM.

Listening to the 25-30 MHz band via several UK based receivers.  Very strong SIO 555 signal on 25.7 MHz AM 25700 kHz AM 25,700 kHz AM with a BBC voice loop "This is the BBC, there are no programs on this frequency at this time" prior to the top of the hour.

Nice to see some 11 meter broadcasting going on still.  25800 kHz 25.8 MHz 25.800 MHz is well-known, 25700 kHz is an interesting one (yes, it is still a legal 11m BC frequency) - 25.6 MHz to 26.1 MHz (or thereabouts).  The 25600 kHz to 26100 kHz band overlaps with land mobile users, 25 MHz / 26 MHz marine allocation and of course the STL / IFB (cue) transmitters used in the U.S. under Part 74 of the FCC rules - 25.870 MHz to 26.470 MHz 25870 kHz to 26470 kHz (20 kHz steps, FM mode).
