Listening via NA5B near D.C. ... weak signal fading in and out a bit.

0155 UTC: Psychedelic Furs song.
0157 UTC: OM on mic talking about music. I think he gave an ID, but I missed it.
0202 UTC: The signal's losing the battle with the noise now.

257
Loud out here near Seattle with "Get Off of My Cloud" by Rolling Stones.

0204 UTC: "Turn! Turn! Turn!" by the Byrds.
0208 UTC: "Wooly Bully" by Sam the Sham & the Pharaohs. Signal's waning a bit now.
0210 UTC: "Under my Thumb" by the Rolling Stones.
0214 UTC: Female synth voice said something I couldn't catch with the SSB distortion here.
0219 UTC: "You Really Got Me" by The Kinks.
0230 UTC: "Somebody to Love" by Jefferson Airplane. Signal's nearly down in the noise now.
0232 UTC: "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood."
0235 UTC: "My Generation" by The Who.

258
Just barely audible out here near Seattle ...

0159 UTC: "Jump" by Van Halen.

2325 UTC: "Sweet Emotion" by Aerosmith.

Fair signal via the Weiser, Idaho, SDR ...

0218 UTC: SSTV transmission in progress, followed by another. Then a slow rock song.

0225 UTC: Blues-rock song as the signal faded.
0229 UTC: Two more SSTV transmissions.
0230 UTC: Back to music.

Some noise, but a fair to good signal heard via the Northern Utah SDR ...

0000 UTC: Slow electronic music. Sounds like maybe Kraftwerk?
0008 UTC: Low male synth voice with talking; can't make it out.
0009 UTC: "Crystal Japan" by David Bowie.
0012 UTC: Low male synth voice again over the music. Mentioned "ionosphere," but couldn't make out if there was an ID mentioned.
0013 UTC: "Seeland" by Neu!
0019 UTC: "Evening Star" by Brian Eno & Robert Fripp.
0022 UTC: Low male synth voice said something again ... then "Base & Apex" by Eno Moebius Roedelius.
0027 UTC: That synth voice again with something about the ionosphere, then repeated "ending transmission," followed by "Diamond Head" by Phil Manzanera.
0032 UTC: Different male voice (not the synth one) seemed to say "WENO Shortwave" (I think) during the song.
0034 UTC: Another "WENO Shortwave" ID by OM voice, who then repeated spelled out the letters "Whiskey, November ..." as "No One Receiving" by Brian Eno started. The signal's getting out to the Weiser, Idaho, SDR, but not quite audible here near Seattle.
0038 UTC: Various radio noises and music mixed together, then a slow, reverb "WENO" ID by a male voice as "Rongwrong" by Phil Manzanera started.
0045 UTC: Reverb-style WENO ID again, then "Silver Morning" by Brian Eno.
0047 UTC: ID again as "The Belldog" by Eno Moebius Roedelius started.
0051 UTC: Very weak music now hitting my own radio out here near Seattle.
0052 UTC: "Broadcasting from lower Earth orbit, this is WENO Shortwave" ID into new song.
0057 UTC: Another WENO ID, partially sung, into another song.
0101 UTC: Male voice with ID and chatting: "Thanks for listening ..." as Brian Eno's "Just Another Day" started.
0105 UTC: Off.

Thanks for the electronic music, WENO!

Thanks for the broadcast, Crooked Man!

Hi, Ron -

I often will listen via the KPH SDR down there to confirm what I'm hearing on my own radio from the Pacific Rim, and I'm jealous of how much more clear Vanuatu is received down there!

So far on 7890, I've only heard a carrier up here. But I heard audio on that harmonic last summer once or twice. I'll have to remember to try 7260 before 0600 hits.

Radio Vanuatu on its third harmonic frequency of 11835 kHz is now solidly audible here near Seattle for the second night in a row. Before that, I was only hearing the carrier making it through the noise.

As with last night, I'm hearing a female announcer talking in Bislama at length between island music songs. The first night, I also heard presumed CNR-2 in Chinese at times in the background. Tonight, though, little sign of that one.

This week is one of the first times I've heard Vanuatu since late summer of 2020.

267
Listening via the Fair Hill, Maryland, SDR. Good signal cutting through the significant noise.

0107 UTC: 1950s rock song; sounds like a live version from a TV show.
0109 UTC: Another vintage rock song with a host's introduction. Lots of other music, including "You Ain't Nothin' But a Hound Dog" followed.
0125 UTC: SSTV transmission (image says Radio Ga-Ga).
0127 UTC: Big band music now, then talking with reference to Alan Freed.
0129 UTC: "Yellow Rose of Texas," some interference, and then the same synth voice that "hosted" yesterday's broadcast said something, but I didn't catch it. Doubt this is really TRSW, as I got an email last night from the station confirming there's a pirate "spoofing" them in recent days.
0135 UTC: SSTV transmission.

Signal's fading a lot and getting lost in the noise here, but I can hear Josiah talking at times. This one's been very active lately after weeks/months away.

That makes sense ... Also, I just found notice that indicates they may indeed have boosted up to 10 kW in recent weeks ...

Fair to good via SDR in Frostburg, Maryland ...

2344 UTC: "Heat is On" by Glenn Frey.
2346 UTC: Male synth voice ID'ing as Texas Radio Shortwave, just like one the other day, and going on quite a diatribe. Not to be confused with the "legit" Texas Radio Shortwave.
2348 UTC: Soundbite from a movie or something, then "Go to Hell" by Electric Church.
2352 UTC: Synth voice back with some more comments, then "Hit the Road Jack" by Ray Charles.
2357 UTC: "Busy Bein' Born" by Middle Class Rut.
0000 UTC: Synth voice back with some more comments, then "The Scheme" by Primus.
