S3-S5 signal with considerable storm noise heard via the Lodi, New York, SDR ...

0009 UTC: "Bright Side of the Road" by Van Morrison.
0012 UTC: "American Girl" by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

2
Huge S10+ signal being heard via the Traverse City, Michigan, SDR ...

0201 UTC: "Everything Ends" by Slipknot.
0202 UTC: OM announcer with Sternradio ID, folowed by female ID in German.

3
I'm hearing an S7ish signal via the Fair Hill, Maryland, SDR. It's not too bad, though fading is taking a toll at times ...

0156 UTC: OM host with a mic check, says he's turning on the A/C, and a bit more chatting. Mentioning he's confused why WBCQ's not on 6160 kHz.
0205 UTC: "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd. This signal's really struggling with the noise now.
0209 UTC: Host back on the mic chatting after taking a phone call.

4
Weak signal well into the noise ...

0115 UTC: "Enjoy the Silence" by Depeche Mode.
0116 UTC: Sounds like another signal's clashing on this frequency?
0118 UTC: Liquid Radio ID.

5
S5ish signal amid moderate to rising noise heard via the NA5B SDR outside of Washington, D.C. ...

0035 UTC: John Coltrane jazz tune.
0037 UTC: OM host on the mic introducing the next tune, "While My Lady Sleeps."
0042 UTC: Another jazz song; sounds like these all may be Coltrane tunes. There's a little distortion on the received audio, which is stumping Shazam on these song titles.
0050 UTC: OM on the mic with information on the just-played songs, then shout-outs to me and others listening and posting on HFUnderground.
0051 UTC: Off.

Thanks for the jazzy Saturday evening program, 77LJS!

Very solid S7 signal without much noise (a nice change from recent days!) being heard via the Fair Hill, Maryland, SDR ...

0003 UTC: "Seeds and Stems (Again)" by Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen.
0004 UTC: OM on the mic with an ID and a welcome to this show about drug songs, then "The Needle and the Spoon" by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
0008 UTC: Canned ID: "This is VFO Radio, your favorite pirate station," then "Amphetamine Annie" by Canned Heat.
0011 UTC: Canned ID ("We're just here to crash the party. VFO Radio.") into "Cocaine" by J.J. Cale.
0015 UTC: OM on the mic with a "thanks for listening" and mention of HFUnderground, then "The Acid Queen" by The Who.
0018 UTC: Canned ID with "King of the Hill" clip into "Snortin' Whiskey" by Pat Travers. The signal's still OK, but it's closer to S5 now as the noise level on the band increases.
0022 UTC: Canned ID into "Sweet Leaf" by Black Sabbath.
0027 UTC: OM on the mic mentioning Ozzy's last show ever, then ID and intro into the next song, "The Pusher" by Steppenwolf.
0034 UTC: Canned VFO ID into "Purple Haze" by The Jimi Hendrix Experience.

Thanks for this evening's music, VFO!

Still hearing it directly and via the Utah SDR when I checked back ...

0426 UTC: "Lead a Normal Life" by Peter Gabriel.

Thanks for the West Coast broadcast, WTF!

S7 signal amid growing noise heard via the Fair Hill, Maryland, SDR ...

0141 UTC: "A Natural Woman (You Make Me Feel Like)" by Aretha Franklin.
0143 UTC: Female voice with ID and email address, then "I Will Always Love You." I can't tell through the noise if it's a cover or not, but it's not the usual Whitney Houston version; this one's more acoustic.
0148 UTC: ID into "I Dreamed a Dream - Inspiration" by Susan Boyle.
0151 UTC: Female-voiced ID: "This is Radio Marlene, broadcasting in the pirate shortwave band." That was followed by "You're So Vain" by Carly Simon. The signal's down to S5 at times as noise on the band increases.
0155 UTC: Email address given again, then "Breakout" by Swing Out Sister (an underrated song from back in the day).
0159 UTC: ID again, then "I Put a Spell on You" by Annie Lennox.
0202 UTC: ID and female voice saying the broadcast's coming to an end, though some of that was lost in the noise.
0203 UTC: "There She Goes" by Sixpence None the Richer.
0206 UTC: Off.

Thanks for the program tonight, Radio Marlene!

0140 UTC: The same piece is continuing.

Thanks, WDEF, for the music tonight!

S9 signal being heard via the Fair Hill, Maryland, SDR ...

0021 UTC: "Novocaine for the Soul" by Eels.

0028 UTC: WTF Worldwide ID into "Can't Stand Losing You" by The Police.

0036 UTC: ID and an HFU shout-out or two into "Rock & Roll (Stereo Album)" by The Velvet Underground.
0041 UTC: ID, a message about reception reports, and thanks to listeners, then a shout-out into "Ashes to Ashes" by David Bowie (a great classic).
0045 UTC: ID into "Message of Love" by Pretenders.
0049 UTC: ID into "The Big Country" by Talking Heads.
0055 UTC: ID into "Look Sharp!" by Joe Jackson.
0058 UTC: ID into shout-out and "Homosapien" by Pete Shelley.
0101 UTC: "Numbers lady" voice with numbers over the song at times.

2123 UTC: "All My Life" by Chezidek.
2126 UTC: "World on Fire" by Stick Figure feat. Slightly Stoopid.
2130 UTC: Male voice with unclear ID into a reggae song that Shazam can't ID. I'm now listening via the Traverse City, Michigan, SDR, which has an S9+ signal at the peaks, though the signal's taken a drop in recent moments.
2137 UTC: New song started as OM gave ID. Sounds like "Yeah Man Radio," though this is very different in musical format from the old Yeah Man Radio.
2139 UTC: OM host coughing lots on the mic.
2143 UTC: Another reggae song started a moment or two ago, but noise is really taking over the signal now.
2148 UTC: "Rasta Light" by ZionRoots. I'm back to listening via the Fair Hill SDR, where the music is peaking nicely at times. Still very noisy!
2151 UTC: OM on mic with "Ja Man Radio"? ID and more coughing into "Sacred Smoke Rising" by ZionRoots.
2154 UTC: OM on mic again with ID as music continued.

Thanks for the Friday reggae vibes!
