Came on just after Amphetamine Radio went QRT.  Weak music on 6925 kHz USB at 1839 UTC.

Hearing Spanish traffic on 27695 kHz LSB / 27.695 MHz calling frequency as well as nearby frequencies 27.675 MHz USB, 27.705 MHz LSB and 27.715 MHz LSB

Hearing fast CW right on 6825 kHz, a quick Googling reveals this is a widely-known French military CW frequency, often used for training purposes.

Via Swedish SDR. Italian language 6700 kHz LSB 6.700 MHz LSB 6705 kHz LSB 6.705 MHz LSB pirates bootleggers Echo Charlie EC 6.6 MHz 6.7 MHz band

Hearing informal CB-like QSOs on 6700 kHz LSB and 6705 kHz LSB.  Sounds like Italian language.  Lots of stations chatting over each other, whistling into microphones, etc.  6705 kHz LSB is the more active of the two.  Originally thought it was 6702 kHz USB (and possibly a "legit" net).  But the 5 kHz steps and use of LSB are both suspect.  Possibly Echo Charlie "EC" pirates usually around 6.6 MHz and 6.7 MHz aeronautical bands in Europe.  These stations are chatting nonstop, really reminds me of Italian CB radio.  Started listening around 1655 UTC, still going strong at 1705 UTC on both frequencies.

At 1705 UTC, 6700 kHz LSB seems to be quiet, but 6705 kHz LSB is still very active.  Roundtable like ragchew QSO.  Different accents heard, likely indicating stations from different parts of Italy.  I know the 6.6 MHz pirates are generally land-based stations and not marine HF mobiles, but you never know...and either way, they still count as "peskies" :D

Since 11 meters is/was open in North America, I decided to check the European SDRs for 11m activity (specifically to see if 27025 AM, etc, were making it across the pond).  11m seemed pretty quiet in the UK SDRs, so I dropped down to 2-3 MHz.  Very active Russian language QSO on 3030 kHz USB.  Seeing several drifty AM signals nearby, which matches with the Siberian Village Radio AM/SSB logs that have been made before.  If I have time I'll try the Swedish SDR and see if I can get better copy on the 2-3 MHz Russian traffic....but these guys on 3030 kHz are going non-stop.  Noticed another SSB signal seemingly "on top" of the 3030 kHz signal, turns out there's another QSO in progress just 3 kHz away on 3033 kHz USB.

EDIT:

The traffic heard on 3030 and 3033 USB may actually be something else.  I'm not hearing them at all on the Swedish or Russian SDRs.  The AM signals are, however, much louder.  Possibly heard maritime traffic on 3030 kHz USB and 3033 kHz USB.  Both 3030 and 3033 are quiet on the other SDRs.  3041 kHz AM is very busy, as well as 3024 kHz / 3025 kHz, 3078 kHz, and several other frequencies (all in AM mode).

Widely variable signal strength Portuguese chatter heard on 6970 kHz USB.

Flirtin' With Disaster at 2323 UTC.  Nice wide 4.9 kHz wide signal.

2138
Hearing very strong two-way Spanish language comms on 6935 kHz LSB 6.935 MHz LSB, an interesting frequency choice considering the time and the fact that the band otherwise seems quiet (except for the MARS net on 6968.5 kHz USB of course).

I went back to the Southwest UK KiwiSDR [http://southwest.ddns.net:8073/] at 1850 UTC (1950 local British Summer Time) and am able to hear the 11 meter beacon Common and Precious III on 26510 kHz 26.510 MHz peaking at S5-S6 in USB mode (when tuned to 26.509 MHz USB).  It does appear that a band opening is in progress in Europe, as I am noticing Russian SSB traffic nearby on 26.495 MHz USB, 26.465 MHz and Russian FM traffic on 26.455 MHz FM and 26.500 MHz FM.  A strong pager transmission comes in on 26500 kHz / 26.500 MHz from time to time as well, and I believe it to be Russian or Eastern European / former USSR / CIS in origin, going by the other signals heard in the 26 MHz area.

Zazzle,

I'm always glad to hear about 11 meter band beacon projects.  I will want to put one of my own up (some day...) with similar power output and antenna type (vertical, simple 1/4 wave or something like that) but on the 27 MHz side, instead of 26 MHz.  Although, I have to say I have an increased appreciation for your frequency choice.  While there is/was some minor Russian taxicab QRM in FM mode, the frequency is a good one.  When the band is open, the "high band" channels (27.405-27.995 MHz) are almost all busy.  Luckily for me, here in the USA, using a frequency that ends in 0 (for example, 27.670 instead of 27.675) will likely help me out.  With the Russians, who use 5 kHz steps on 11 meters, that can't really be avoided.

Either way, good work and keep it up!  I will keep checking 26.510 MHz / 26510 kHz for your beacon in the future.

2142
The 11 meter band seems pretty quiet right now, but I noticed some activity on 27.555 MHz USB / 27555 kHz USB Triple 5 T5.  Two stations speaking Spanish, then switched to English to ID, then back to Spanish.  One of them IDed at 30ETxxx Leon Province Northern Spain (then called CQ in Spanish, then repeated back to English).  30 division calling CQ for Northern African stations

2143
I haven't checked this frequency in a bit so I thought I would.  Even though its just shy of 2330 UTC on 07/24/2017, there's activity on the usual 6900 kHz LSB frequency.  Lots and lots of summer static QRN making copy difficult right now though.  Maybe later it'll be easy to copy, but I am hearing Spanish speaking traffic on 6900 LSB.

2144
I checked three different KiwiSDRs (one in the UK, two in different parts of Russia) and was able to hear Common and Precious III on 26510 kHz / 26.510 MHz around 1720-1740 UTC on July 20th, 2017.  Keep up the good work, Zazzle!

This is a different SDR than the one previously discussed.  In fact, its several thousand km from the other one.

Hearing beacon CW on 26510 kHz - 26.510 MHz, barely making it above the noise floor.  As with the other SDR loggings, some minor FM voice two-way land mobile communications system QRM from Russian taxi cab dispatchers talking to taxis on nearby frequencies.  Russia uses 5 kHz steps for CB and a strong FM signal on 26515 kHz / 26.515 MHz caused the CW beacon signal to disappear.  Pretty impressive for 8 watts!  Signal faded away for about 30-40 seconds around 1742 UTC, then came back only a bit weaker.

It's awesome checking out these various receivers around Europe and Russia and hearing one of "HF Underground's own" beacon projects.  Keep up the good work!
