Heard these two brief transmissions on 6925 just before I switched over to 6950 for RFM. It sounds like excerpts from Joe's Garage - Zappa with the 'Scrutinator' voice being played briefly, but that's just a guess. Anyway, thought these were interesting.

Discovered this broadcast going through my nightly recording this morning. This is probably one of the better catches I've had from this station as this is another difficult one for me to hear down in the swamplands.

Equipment / Re: AN/FRR-22, FRR-23, etc.

I've never owned or seen one of these Andrew, but my 'Shortwave Receivers Past & Present' book mentions that the FRR-21/22/23 are the fixed versions of the SRR-11/12/13 and the tubes used throughout the receiver are the subminiature type soldered in place.  I wonder if the tube type & connection makes them difficult to maintain?

Saw this mentioned on Ian's site last night of a broadcast on 6923.5 USB.  Sounds like the language is in spanish and at one point could clearly make out 'Columbia'.  The broadcast sounds like a sports event being relayed, but the sportscast audio itself sounds like pieces or segments with very short stops or pauses in between.  The transmission ended abruptly at 02:51z.  SIO 323 with a nice peak around 02:34z-02:37z.  May just be pescadore/fisherman relaying their favorite team.

Weak signal fading in and out of the low noise floor this morning.  Didn't recognize most of the music or catch an ID, but was able to identify Canned heat at one point.

I thought I heard some french (fishermen?) at one point which I've heard before around this frequency; it's possible there's two conversations going on with the french guys waiting for the tones to stop to keep chatting & then whoever is conducting the tone test also engaging in voice data of some sort.

Other / UNID - Military testing? 6930 USB 01:14z - 01:16z

Caught this last night tuning around originally on 6930 USB & then tuned down to 6929.8 for better copy on the voice comms - strange tone repeatedly being transmitted for a few seconds with what sounds like a QSO following in between.  The QSO part may not have anything to do with whoever is transmitting the tones, but have not heard this before on this frequency.  Most of the voice comms was hard to make out, but at one point could clearly hear a numerical value given.
