About S-9 on HFU  skyloop SDR

47
0216  Heard music very briefly, then it seemed to go off---

Was about S-5 on SDR in  Crooked River Ranch, Oregon  http://kk6pr.ddns.net:8077/

Hi Chris L.--- I hope you are well!

Are you saying the "Winterfest" was actually conducted at this late date ?  Was usually a couple months earlier, by custom... just curious.

Never been to one, although it was one of my ambitions back in earlier days.... I have been out of touch with everything for a few years.

49
0133  "Burnin' Love" ~ Elvis

0138  short "hot stuff" clip, into "Smoke on the water" with overdubs, "don't play with me or you play with fire" song, dogs barking, and "oh what a jackass".  Fun stuff-- my first time for this station, I think..

Into several cuts from The Who's rock opera "Tommy"-- with dogs barking intermittently in the background--
"I'm free" and  0154 "We're not gonna take it"...  "see me, feel me" (the dogs seemed to "feel" the angst of that one in particular, whining)

0208  This is actually  the original Radio Animal at WDOG??   talking about his early career in the late 1980's!
"dogs are actually my best friend, but more on that later"  Great to finally hear you!

Into lengthy talk about his transmitters, antennas, and audio response air-checks, all in some kind of fake english accent.
he says he wants advice about what SDR transmitter to buy, with a nice wide signal, so maybe this is some sort of relay...

0225 "I love that dog as much as I love you" song.... by "Cat" Stevens?  ut oh, the dogs are getting upset and whining!   LMAO

0256 Hearing the opening synth notes for The Sweet's "Fox on the run" circa 1975--- don't need 'Shazam' for that,
I still own the "45"--- I think.   lol

0259  "Born to run" ~ Bruce Springsteen!  (don't see the 'dog' connection here, but a damned fine song, of course!)
((oh WAIT---- most dogs LOVE to "go for a ride" in the CAR, don't they??))

0304 saying goodnight "the frequency will be turned over to more normal pirate radio use"  heh
one closing clip was dog moans over a tune by Mozart or Clementi on an electronic keyboard, I think---
recognize the tune but not sure of the authorship at this late date, although I may have played it as a child

Still great reception on the HFU/Maryland SDR   http://sdr.hfunderground.com:8077/?f=6925usb

Nice wide signal into Maryland SDR with S-9 peaks, good audio

THANKS FOR THE SUNDAY NIGHT SHOW!!!!

0405--- some kind of WWV vs. CHU skit... but was glad to hear someone voicing a socialist manifesto--- ut uh, sounds like CHU and WWV are having sex at 0408,  LMAO  Excellent bit, you should re-air that a few times... (but maybe a tad too fast for oldman shortwave listeners...)

Actually been listening since shortly after the move to 6925u, while doing some of my other online venues.  Good signal throughout.

S-9+ on HFU Maryland skyloop SDR at 0410 UTC.

0414  "Somebody" ~ Gotye, FISHER & Chris Lake

Thanks for the show tonight!

51
0208 UTC  Tough reception conditions tonight.  S-9 on Traverse City SDR,
but audio mostly low and lightning noise high https://www.lightningmaps.org/#m=oss;t=3;s=0;o=0;b=;ts=0;

52
0232  "Captain Easychord" ~ Stereolab
0234  "Lo Boob Oscillator" ~ Stereolab

Nice signal, mostly S-8 with some S-9 peaks and strong audio on HFU Maryland SDR

53
0223  "Hell is for children" ~ Pat Benatar
0228  VOICE OF THE SKY positive ID
0229 "On the other side" ~ Kansas
0239  "Outlaw Women" ~ Hank Williams Jr.
0255 "Gone Shootin' " ~ AC/DC
0258 "Sirius/Eye In The Sky" ~ The Alan Parsons Project
0306 "Find another fool" ~ Quarterflash  (kudos, I had forgotten that song...)

0420  "Don't Look Back" ~ Boston, still listening to you all this time while chatting on the HFU discord.
Reception much the same, sounds good!

0426  "Big Balls" ~ AC-DC---- possibly last heard by me on 8-track tape in my car, while delivering pizzas in the early 1980's!
0429 "My own worst enemy" ~  Lit   (Yeah, that might be me.  I have some strange recollection of waking up laying halfway onto my bed, with my jacket and shoes still on, sometime in the mid 1980's... was interesting that my mother did not remark upon it, but perhaps she never checked up on me that night, LOL)

0433 "Crutch" ~ Matchbox Twenty
0435  "We're an American Band"  ~  Grand Funk Railroad

S-7 with big audio on HFU skyloop SDR at 0223.  About the same at 0444, so I didn't bother searching out any other SDRs tonight.

Thanks for the later-primetime show!
KUDOS to the station for the wide range of music in this show tonight--- I have enjoyed it!

If you're still watching the logs, I'd request your favorite song by The Doors--
(as long as it is not 'The Crystal Ship'!   jajajaja   Keep getting hit with that song after I post loggings--
I appreciate the gesture,
but that song was chosen as our station name for the name of the song alone--
was never one of my favorite Doors tunes)

0455  "Tell All The People" ~ The Doors--- from 'The Soft Parade', I suspect--
THANKS AMIGO!!!

0457 "Down to the waterline" ~ Dire Straits
(just occurred to me how much that lead singer sounds like Bob Dylan...)

0515  "Happy Jack"  ~ The Who   ("who?" you know...)
0517 "Dreamweaver"  (was a prom song during my Junior High School years.... 77? 78?)

visible on the SDR from 6700 to 7100 khz...  Mostly reducing itself by 2205.

OTA at 2212.

Great reception at 0149 on the Maryland skyloop SDR, mostly S-7 with very strong audio.

switched back to HFU SDR before the end, which was fading up a little.

60
