Very inspiring, both.  So much so that I actually tuned down there, which is something I rarely do since all I have ever seen down there is a monstrous miasmic mess of man made slop presumably from switching supplies et al which obliterates everything up to about 185 kHz.  Not today, as I was able to pretty much see a waterfall similar to refmo's, which is thrilling to no end.

Thanks, guys!

This was with a 96" amplified whip, base about 9 ft AGL.

At least Mequon 304 is still off.  That one hides 3 potential new NDBs for me when it is on.

Daytime is the only time it has been quiet enough to hear anything worthwhile, nites still way too much storm QRN.

Random data point: I happened to see a Monarch today while taking a letter down to the mailbox.

Yet another Random Data Point:  In the last week, I have usually noted about a dozen Monarchs at a time in the yard.  They seem very frisky.

The NTE618s have a hyper-abrupt junction and this gives a wide tuning range.  Used 'em here for years.

EN is a local for me, and I just took a listen.  The inter-character spacing between E and N 'might' be a bit short, but it's not totally out of whack.  There are a couple of dozen NDBs I can think of whose keyers are REALLY shaky, and are often the subject of DXer confusion.

BTW, welcome this often forgotten corner of the hobby!  The NDB season will start in earnest in a couple of months when the days grow shorter and the thunderstorms die down.  We are all hoping that this will turn out to be a spectacular year due to the fact that we are in the solar minimum.

Got all those.  The only NZ left for me to log is BE 394; never had any luck with that.

Ever since I read the initial post, I have been afflicted by the jPlane "Pretty As You Feel" earworm.

Coincidence?  I think not.

I need a new drug.  (Let's see if that works)

Phase 2 of the Canadian NDB Massacre is sked for 10 October 2019.  This will open up a couple of possibilities.  NA listeners will have a real shot at LT 305 (Alert, NU) due to the sked closure of YQ 305 (Churchill, MB) which dominates here.

Noting that my local DGPS pest Mequon 304 is currently off, but it is no the the time of year to capitalize on this.  IIRC, Mequon is due to go off in the fall.  Good riddance, and bubbye now.
