Automated OM reading wx. Station ID at end of recording. Sorry about quality but it do be noisy this morning. Ran it through RM noise on my end and sounded great but the SDR Uno recording plugin takes it straight from the radio and not the sound card. RM Noise is an awesome AI filter that makes the weak stations come in clear. If you haven't tried it you should. Especially if you are using an SDR.

Getting what is likely Jindalee Operational Radar Network or HFDL bursts. Seems to be several stns or if the JORN is running a series of different directional patterns.

I'm seeing a very strong signal, or two very strong signals right next to each other, between about 13920 and 13965 or thereabouts. It might be RFI but I've tuned a lot of interference over the years and this doesn't look like anything I've ever seen before. Any ideas?

A recording would help with ID. I use Vocaroo which gives you a link to your audio that you could include in your posts.
A good resource for IDIng digital signals is https://www.sigidwiki.com/wiki/Signal_Identification_Guide

Hi all.

Yesterday I played with the ALE-extension on some Kiwis in central U.S. scanning the Urgent Link network. It is a nice tool, really!

07315.60 BT30WA: UrgentLink Bothell, WA, USA MIL-STD 188-141  10:40:59   FRQ 7315.60   Sounding THIS WAS   From: BT30WA    His BER: 0  10:41:02   FRQ 7315.60   Sounding THIS WAS   From: BT30WA    His BER: 0  (18OCT2021 1040) (tiNG)

May I ask where did you find the frequency list for urgent Link?

Hi,

It's XSG Shanhai Radio on 8424.5 kHz.

73,
Patrick

Many thanks. That makes sense with my Pacific propagation.

Very good reception.....OM reciting phonetic letters, occasional numbers
2228 Bravo Quebec Papa Bravo Kilo stand by
2230 OM "This is Gulfport Echo Out"

Gulfport is a town on the gulf coast in Mississippi. There is a Navy CB base there and a National Guard exercise grounds just north of Gulfport. This was probably the CBs testing radios.

similar on 5074usb multiple times today, sender id x2blze at 2235

Tnx. I'll keep an eye on that freq as well. It rings a bell as possibly one of the old NIGHT WATCH freqs. I'll dig around.

Heard what sounded like an EAM on 14756 give or take. Tuned around a few kHz either way. Sounded like it might have been in LSB but HFGCS does not use LSB to my knowledge. Checked 15016 and 11175 and heard nothing. I've heard of airborne assets sending EAMs on discretes from time to time. Sorry no recording. I blame the cat.
Any ideas?
