0145 utc, sounds great here in south central PA when not being jammed by the sirens. Using a Hallicrafters R-649A and 60 ft wire antenna tonight.

0200 utc, Genesis "Invisible Touch" a few deep fades now

Music with Lucy FM 96.5 ID between songs. Fairly solid signal into SC PA, but lots of adjacent splatter from 860 and 840, and occasionally fading to another cochannel station.

For them that's actually fairly close to being on frequency, their old 5110 transmitter was often closer to 5109.80 most of the time i would tune in. Considering that most of the stuff is cobbled together out of military surplus and converted AM broadcast rigs, its not a surprise.

Down here in PA that's usually what 920 sounds like every night, CKNX is the dominant signal but fights against a Spanish station that I've yet to ID.

I heard that too last night, also noticed there was some repeating glitch in the audio that i kept hearing, then again given what was said about how trashed the transmitters there were it could've been the transmitter breaking down.

7490 is WBCQ.

Except from 1200 to 1500 UTC when WWCR uses the frequency. WBCQ is on 7490 from 0000 to 0500 and then 1600 to 0000.

Hearing RWM time pulses underneath WWV on both 5000 and 10000 khz, the 9996 signal is coming through better of the 2.

General Radio Discussion / AFN on shortwave still exist?

Last time i heard them was back when Key West was still on the air, but i can't find any reference to the other remaining sites (Guam/Diego Garcia) being shut down, at the same time i can't find anything recent proving that anyone has heard them recently either

This station is diplexed with WHGG 1090, another 10 kw daytimer. On a hunch i tuned up there and found them (presumably, based on the Love FM ID) battling it out with WBAL.

10kw daytimer from Colonial Heights, TN. Booming into south central PA with classic country. Heard "96.3 the Possum" ID at 0049 and at 0052.

WPWT Colonial Heights legal ID at 0102.

Hearing this same station right now, apparently playing the same songs on a loop or something like that, because they just finished Eye of the Tiger and went right into Danger Zone.

Just tuned across this one, extremely good signal and audio, puts a lot of broadcast stations to shame. Solid S9 on the IC-718 and 80 meter dipole, really surprised because signals just a little higher in the 40 meter ham band sound awful this morning.

Coming in fairly well on an Eton E100 in the house, with AC/DC "Back in black" especially considering this is a station that's only supposed to be running 31 watts at night.
