Have been checking lately for Radio Uganda reportedly re-activating 4976.  Noted a carrier there tonight above the usual LA on 4975 with a good opening to E Africa.
No audio heard, although noted carrier up to S7 at times.

Good signal with very deep fades to the noise tonight.

First noted weak carrier in waterfall 0330; built until 0400 then faded.  Nice SRE peak at 0410-0420 with OM talk in language which I could not definitely ID as Lingala.  Quick fade out after 0430.  First solid audio from this here this season.  Props look promising for the next few nights?


11Jan13  In with a stunning S4 carrier peak around 0420.  Doodley squat audio.

15Jan13 Again a nice quick enhancement peak to S4 around 0425.  Again not a trace of audio.

18Jan13 Peaking as noted to S4 without a trace of audio.

From the Signal Strength History, it looks like the times represent fade in and fade out times rather that sign on/off, but not sure.

1251 unid mx
1302 Deep Purple - "Highway Star"
1315 unid mellow YL vocal
1318 Eagles - "Take It to the Limit"
1323 "Sounds of Silence" - can't tell if this was S&G or a cover
1327 apparent fade out; no ID was heard

Very weak with deep fades and pesc QRM.

0131 Carrier on, OM "...[testing?]...123"
0132 OM talking here in very low deliberate voice which sounded muffled and hard to understand
0133 AC/DC - "Hell's Bells"
0138 more OM talk; I've listened to the recording several times, and it again is very low and slow and hard to understand
0139 carrier off, then on in a bit and whistling (ascending scale)
0140 off

About an S5 on an S4 floor, music at good level, mike audio a bit less so

2126 some unintelligible OM talk
2128 poss New Year's related music (some 40's ish), sounds of woman laughing/partying
2134 off

2145 A carrier is on/off at abt 6899.9

Right at the floor here, w/ occas pops above the noise.  Poss slight upward drift.

Hearing some CW here in the noise.  Haven't done a full decode but I believe I am hearing "DE BOR" in part.

1419 "This is Blue Ocean Radio testing, from the west coast of North America" at better level.
1443 CW followed by a voice ID; S6 on an S2 floor

I have something here continuously between these times.  I seem to have been severely offtuned, and cannot make much of it.  Right down at the noise which was quite considerable this AM, possibly due to thousands of newly acquired toys and gadgets being fired up under trees here in my hood.
