Alright.

I know you say "please don't post new comments for requests," but I've had a request up since the time you announced it was your birthday.

Sooooooooo.......

Please go back to my first post and check it out.

Love,

MDK2

OK, the request is "HAVE A DRINK ON ME" by AC/DC, and it's dedicated to you on your big day. :)

Regarding your comment about my tastes, they're all over the place. Definitely some metal in there though you're right to not think of me as a metalhead. Check out "Curtain" by Portal - if you dare. (Not a request. :) )

Immediately following Wolverine Broadcast.

0055 DDJ on the mic
0056 "I Can't Stand It" Eric Clapton
0100 HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUDE and thanks for the shout out.

Hey, when you get to request time, please play "Have a Drink On Me" by AC/DC and dedicate it to yourself.

Wait, WDDR and I share a Birthday? Birthday Paradox FTW!
Happy Birthday to you too corq!

0125 35 WDDR shows since 2013. Impressive.
0139 Wolverine stats, started in 2007. I heard a number over 200 unique playlists and 400 shows for the broadcast total but didn't catch the exact figures. Very impressive.
0152 more stats, most played artists (BB King leading the way) over the years.
0302 SSTV sent (my copy from Sigma kiwi SDR because it's still much better there than here)

0320 next SSTV

This was what we've all been waiting for

0402 "Red Rain" Peter Gabriel - nice one.
0417 DDJ announcing that he's finished his wine but is still in control.
0418 Fleetwood Mac "Never Going Back Again"

Tuning in to a big signal on the Sigma (N1NTE) kiwi SDR at CT/MA. Station ID copied at 0023.

Found this while scanning the bands, Mandarin language station that sounds much like the style of programming I find when CNR1 is jamming Sound of Hope. Eibi confirms that this frequency is used by SOH and CNR1 jamming, but not at this time. SIO 444.

Probably be a good idea to download the recordings while you can. I did that several years ago with all the KIPM shows on New York International's site which I think also disappeared at least for a while. You can't rely on personal websites to be there for more than a few years. There's tons of stuff from back in the day (mostly personal blogs from before the rise of social media) that I can't find anymore, even with archival websites.

Maybe this is what you are referring?
https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/transmissions-in-a-hostile-territory

That was very interesting, particularly the lack of FCC involvement. The article's authors take pains to remain anonymous and therefore don't name the prison or its location, but did say something about a small town so it's somewhere rural. It seems the authorities didn't think to involve the FCC which might well have altered the case, but the author states that they weren't interested afterwards. To me this reinforces the idea that their piracy investigations are most concerned with interference to areas where commercial radio is prominent, so it's more than just AM and FM pirates they care about, it's those who would compete with the big boys in populated regions. But again, if they were involved before the bust things might have gone differently.

Yes. I doubt RNZ is going to use 500 kW though. The photo at RNZ shows standard looking towers rather than the beast WBCQ has. But maybe they'll be able to broadcast AM and DRM simultaneously all day, or multiple beams at one time? Nothing in the article or at RNZ's site says they plan on doing that but since they're committed to DRM it would make sense if they would.

0452 decent signal here, orchestral music that I don't know. Thanks for the show!
