General Radio Discussion / Re: Hobby Broadcasting Radio
« on: November 17, 2022, 1730 UTC »
Thanks much for the interest! Sleep's important and this is the only time slot, so I can e-mail the MP3 to you if you'd like and if your e-mail can handle 20Mb attachments

Since I did not get a chance to hear it. I would like a copy. Thanks

Shortwave Broadcast / Re: WTWW the truth

I wonder if another religious organization would sponsor them for airtime or if Allan Weiner is interested in buying them.

I agree with you.

I am not assuming anything. The power they were using was not enough to stay on the air anyway. A watt is a watt of electric input power. It all makes the electric power meter move.

It costs too much to run hi power 100KW inefficient transmitters with the power wasteful AM carrier anyway. The minimum for US shortwave is around 50KW for AM intended for international broadcasting. Other countries have a much lower minimum power requirement.

Thanks.  It all depends on how well your radio sounds.  Some radios can’t hear the difference. It also depends on how well your hearing is.

S9 +20dB
But why so wide?

Because it sounds fantastic!

This is low bandwidth now. How does this sound. Is it better?

Now that WTWW has gone off the air ... 5085.0 kHz and 9940.0 kHz are up for grabs ... just saying ... good night time frequencies --- moo ha ha ha.

I thought about it. Lol

I moved to 12060 for now. Thanks for tuning in.

FM Free Radio / Re: FM Dxing equipment?

Aside from SDR and good antennas. It is very important to be able to have fine tuning and narrow filters. I use a YAMAHA T-85 tuner with 4 filter bandwidths.

Nice signals on 4185 and 5185

Nice signal and audio ION.

Thanks for tuning in.

2030 S9 + Listening in SAM in SDR at 10Kc audio.

At one point a fuse blew lol. I replaced it and the TX worked fine. I turned up the modulation loudness even more.
Thanks for tuning in and your posts, song logs, fine audio comments and emails. I am only running 150 watts of AM carrier.

Nice signal S9+10 on the Drake R8B in SAM with preamp off
