Mostly carrier but I did catch enough of what the announcer was speaking to determine it was Spanish. Some Afro-Caribbean music, heavy on the horns and drums. S-3 on peaks, but storm noise to the south of me killed any chance of an id. Faded out about 1:30 utc.

They were selling off their version of the Sangean 505 at a ridiculous price, roughly 50 bucks. That's a good little portable.

Virginia Tech? They do lead the country in rock and stick technology. I wonder if they were brought in to keep the jackrabbits at bay?

Another informative and educational post, Al.

Would you happen to know where I could get one of those stations on wheels?

The NFL is looking for sideline psi officials. Applicants must have their own digital pressure gauges. The ability to handle several balls at once is critical.

That's a good frequency for pirates to stay far away from.

The Hurricane nets in the Southeast and mid-Atlantic region should be up and running very soon. They operate from about 6913 to 6920 khz. Even the pescadors don't interfere with them that much. I guess they rely on the info, too?

Thanks for the info, Oliver.

There are days I wish young Oxy had told you to go with plastic instead of paper, Al.

Atrain, my late uncle used to make great BBQ'd racoon in a slow cooker. It took about twelve hours, but damned it was worth it.

Pulled racoon sandwiches, there's nothing like 'em.

Watch that vegetarian stuff, Fansome.

Which James Brownyard do you mean? Old Man Brownyard or his kid? I remember something about his kid, James "Oxy" Brownyard Jr. talking some weirdo in Hershey, PA. into standing on a corner with a bag on his head waiting for young Oxy to pick him up.

I wonder if that fella is still standing on the corner wearing that bag?

Thanks for the post, Al. People don't realize the work you put into these news releases.

I used to play a Kinks cover of "Louie, Louie" when I was an active pirate.

My followers are obviously clamoring for my return.

At last, the flux capacitor! I knew old Doc Fansome had it in him.

Does he still have that Delorean?

I hate to hear that. Serbia never had a huge signal at my locale, but it was steady and solid copy. Most of those Balkan stations were like that.

BTW, is Albania still on the air?
