QSLs Received / Re: Amphetamine Radio 9/5 eQSL
« on: September 08, 2016, 1400 UTC »
From notes by AR: "Keep listening for more Amphetamine Radio programming on your
favorite 43 meter band frequencies (really, 6925 kHz unless there's somebody important
using it - that is, another pirate or ute/military/ALE/etc).  If that's the case, I'll be on
6930 kHz, 6950 kHz or maybe even 6955 kHz."

Thanks for the e-qsl.

{edit - duplicate image removed. Sorry about that}

General Radio Discussion / Radio music

I was recently reading the post by Ct Yankee. "So, why did you start listening to the radio",
and it brought back memories what I consider my favorite radio related music:
BTW: Ct, the answer, for me, is the magic of radio and I think the first song
really expresses that magic feeling... Enjoy! :)

I was on the phone and had the rcvr parked on 6925 with the
audio turned down when I realized I was hearing CW. I fired up
fldigi in the CW mode - sorry, if I copy CW by ear, I need 200%
concentration! - and copied this, looks like same message sent 2 X:

Other / UNID carrier 6946.5 kHz 2250 24jul16 UTC
« on: July 25, 2016, 0115 UTC »
This is a really strong carrier that I first noticed ~2250
I expected someone to s/on at TOH but so far, nothing.
The carrier is consistently stronger that WRMI(?) on
6855 kHz. The carrier is ~S9 +10 on the R-70.
?????? I posted on here due to the frequency.

Also received both QSLs
Thanks AR

0223 - unk guitar mx someone s/on???
0225 - YL ID of relay but couldn't catch
0236 - OM ID Radio Moronia - How appropriate
for this moment in time, of this night! :)
0237 - "Time of the Season"

{edit 1250 22jul16}
Found a very nice - and quick! - e-QSL in my inbox this morning,
from this posting.
The name of the service is: Nostalgia Pirate - ClassicPirateRadioRelayService
Thanks, Radio Morania and please forgive my misspelling of earlier.

Another AR SSTV image @ 0114 but still way down in the
noise. I sure hope I didn't mow my coax, or radials, when I
was mowing this afternoon! :(

{edit 0215}
More SSTV images with somewhat better sig near s/off.
0208 caught bits and pieces of CW "AMPHETAMINE RADIO
WHERE EAGLES DARE VVV VVV DE AR AMPHETAMINE
RADIO HIGH SPEED PIRATE RADIO 6925 6925 AR AR"
0210 e-mail address for reports and s/off w/Star Spangled Banner
vy good sig and audio at s/off!

0223 - unk guitar mx someone s/on???
0225 - YL ID of relay but couldn't catch

238
I discovered these 2 SSTV images when I came in from mowing.
Rcvr was parked, as usual, on 6925 kHz.

0105 - someone is whistling on freq...

239
1725 - BARELY could hear some mx, maybe OM "testing"
          a few minutes earlier?
1728 - CW but it was way too weak for me to copy. Maybe
someone in a better QTH also heard or an SDR recording???
Not prime time for good propagation at this freq. :)
"Hello, hello, is there anybody out there?"

240
Thanks, WJD. The link worked great. That was interesting reading.
I note that this report was for a PSK-63 mode. It gets curiouser
and curiouser. I usually leave the SDR-IQ parked on 6925 when
I'm not listening elsewhere (sorry, not 6930 :))

BTW: You sound pretty good tonight but getting covered by
QRN crashes from time to time but such is life at this time of
the year. We are having too much of mid - upper 90s temperatures
and real close dew points. Gotta love Mr. Carrier for his cool
invention! BTW#2 - I could enjoy a change of mx to something
like Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Bluegrass... Just my
never humble opinion ;D Have a good transmission tonight!
Hey, a change of mx even before I clicked the Post button!
