It's too bad. I genuinely enjoyed it when I could find it. Now I'm stuck with the puff pieces in Pop Comm, which is also a shadow of its former self.

QSLs Received / Re: Radio Free Whatever QSL

That's an awesome card! Hopefully they will be on in the fall when conditions into here improve.

A friend of ours was actually an operator there. The Russians were well aware that they were being monitored and would occasionally acknowledge the Canadians. There were even a few unofficial QSO's between the two sides.

Boomer is a good guy.  Yes his affiliation with FRN goes way back.  Don't judge him based on that. He has nothing to do with FRN assdouchery.
My problem wasn't with him or what he does; I have enough of my own quirks to start a focus group. My concern was that the entire site was being taken over by a group of people (the sock puppets) obsessing over something not even remotely pirate or radio related. It should be noted that at NO time did Boomer post, and at NO time did I address comments to him.

For a while over on the Furreh Radio Network site nearly every post concerned him and his battle to change his name. Any contrary opinion (ie: my opinion) immediately invoked the wrath of the sock puppet army, which continues to this day. I bailed on the site in disgust and now enjoy my time here.

I have it in Northern Canada just as a carrier and faint audible music. Surprising I can hear anything on HF this time of year.

I went the year before last. Loved it, but at 52 I was probably the youngest (and thinnest) guy there. If you're in the swap meet and see something you like, buy it as it will be gone later.

Have a very nice copy into northern Canada tonight. Heard OM announcer, into slow country song. "Good Time Johnny's Got The Blues" I think, but I could be wrong on the name of the song.
So here's my report: 0320GMT May o6 2013. Signal S-5+ with QRN and QSB.

I'd appreciate a QSL or eQSL if possible.

Taking on air requests? Perhaps a new pirate first!!!

The famous early '80's Canadian Pirate TNFM actually gave their HOME phone number for requests. I chatted with them for quite a while and have a cassette recording of the broadcast, where they gave a shout out to me. Of course this was in the pre-Bunneh days when pirates didn't have to worry too much about that sort of thing.

His performance at Woodstock was unforgettable, and man, he beat the snot out of that poor guitar. Absolutely riveting on the Woodstock video.

They had a hit before that, can't remember what it was called but it was about mental illness. Fantastic song, great video. She's the same age as me, way too young. Dang.

Weak, but definitely in there tonight. I can hear music, but unfortunately not strong enough for an ID.

118
Amen to that!

I posted it on a parallel(sp?) thread; killer signal into north Canada. Steady S-9 signal now with QRN and minor QSB.
