Listening to The Mysterious Universe podcast. Hosted by two Aussies who are fun to listen to, but who also go a tiny bit off the wall with some of their theories about the strange things they discuss. But, since we no longer have Art Bell around (may he rest in peace), they'll have to do.

I was alerted to the presence of what sounds a bit like a time signal via a Reddit thread.

Anyone have any idea what this might be?

Looking at the dents and dings in the equipment seems to indicate that it may have possibly fallen from a great height. So, weather balloon? Or some sort of other radio experiment aloft?

Whoa, I wasn't aware that there was more than one Commander Bunny. But cool that there is. Kind of like the Dread Pirate Roberts or "No, I am Spartacus."

That reminds me....we haven't heard Orbital Mind Control Satellite in quite some time! It would be nice to see if they are still around! Hopefully they haven't been captured by the Plutonium Underground 

Orbital Mind Control Satellite was/is one of the best pirate stations, ever, with Commander Bunny following at a close second.

Found a new one (to me): a dasher on 4089, 30 dashes per second, each dash about 0.4 seconds long. Anyone else log this one?

Can you give us a bit more information? Such as, approximate UTC time, approximate area from which the signal was heard, and mode used (CW, AM, USB). Also, was "30 dashes per second" a typo? Did you mean 30 dashes per minute?

          Even if you don't have CW / SSB capabilities, check the following simplex FM FREQ's of 52.525MHz, 52.540MHz, 146.550MHz, 146.580MHz, the 147MHz simplex FREQ's, 223.500MHz, 446.000MHz, 446.050MHz, and 446.100MHz. The exchange here is mainly for the grid square and if you have other bands to work points from. And, any licensed amateur worked is a point to any serious contester. Good practice for Field Day. Now, wish these T-storms away!

Have you run into any Lynnwood-Everett-Snohomish County pirates on FM? I haven't myself, but I also haven't spent much time looking.

No, I haven't. But while you are out driving around, keep your car radio tuned to any of the known FM frequencies used by FM pirates and you may get lucky.

Heard the same station again tonight (Saturday). Fairly good signal at my QTH, with only a bit of fading every now and then.

Songs I heard:

Beatles: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Beatles: Lovely Rita
Grace Jones: Strange
Pulp: Common People
Wall of Voodoo: Mexican Radio
The Clash: This Is Radio clash

In between songs, there were some funny clips of weird sounds, old radio adverts, etc.

Edit: Forgot to mention that this station identifies as Underground FM and typically announces an email address during transmissions.

Time to get familiar with the extreme low power modes like wspr and so on and so forth.

Absolutely. In fact, WSPR is about the only mode that gives me any kind of result on HF these days. (I'm one of those heretics who, while loving digital modes, doesn't care for JT65 and FT8).
