General Radio Discussion / Re: YHWH - 3/10 update

I too have been trying unsuccessfully to hear this guy for a while now. (I also wondered about Rons log of the station being in am/usb & lsb...what the hell does that mean? He's a pretty knowledgeable & long time dx'er but I have no idea about that). I checked 5785 last night at about 2:50 - 3:15 utc while I walked the dog & was hearing something but couldn't get it very well. It was strong enough to lock the synch detector on my pl660 though. btw the 7125 broadcast was in LSB from what I've read/heard.

22:00z   3/11/14    I queried Ron about the AM+USB+LSB thing & he merely meant that they were in AM...nothing funky or exotic, he just phrased it a little weird.

Stupid time shifting BS...disregard that Arabic comment.

Noon on 11645 is Arabic

Voice of Korea in English hear via Twente:

11635  KHz   19:00 utc  to 20:00 utc  or 3:00 pm EST

This is the best frequency for North Korea's English service, it has been coming in really well on this frequency at this time lately. It is also well heard on 11645 KHz at 16:00 utc or 12:00 am EST. There are lots of other good English frequencies for NK here:

http://www.short-wave.info/

Just add 4 hours to UTC to get EST

No, the pip is on daily with a daytime & nighttime frequency. 5448 is the day frequency & 3756 is a night frequency. Supposedly they use different transmitters & power levels 3756 - 1kW and 5448 - 15kW. the pip is also called network number 800 (according to people who claim to be involved with the station).

Heard weak on Twente sdr (using my laptop while I'm at the laundromat). Occasional bits of audio heard

They look very cool, Chanter. The front features a large three masted sailing ship flying the jolly Roger, above the ship it says "The Crystal Ship   TCS" & below the ship it says "shortwave pirate radio   fighting for free radio since 1982". The print is in white & yellow & the ship is white & the shirt is black. The design is large & takes up the entire front of the shirt. You won't regret getting one I'm sure.
