Clandestine Stations / Help with B-21
« on: November 15, 2021, 2336 UTC »
Thanks everyone for their posts.
Two four letter words (life & work) have had me tied up pretty tight for the last long bit and I apologize for not putting together an A-21 this year.
That said, putting a B-21 together looks bleak - if someone would like to help out, I can send you a word doc of B-20 that can be used as a template - PM me if you can help.
Thanks again for the logs & for keeping the Clandestine forum active.
Good DX and stay well,
FPE

11/10/75 Edmund Fitzgerald sinks/goes missing in Lake Superior leaving 29 missing/dead.
I don't recall the Memorial broadcast being on in 2020....but it did recently appear in at least 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019.
Hopefully this year.  As early as 1440z and as late as 0420z - and as early as 11/9 and as late as 11/12.  On USB and AM - 5150khz - 6950khz (typically and recently 6875khz-6950khz).
Time will tell.

Yes the setup works very well for Wefax.  And the R8 never lets me down.  One thing I can't do though is save the images as JPEG, etc.  at least not that I know of.
Oh well, you can't have everything!

I have no experience with SDRs (they call me a "knob turner" - oh well), but I must agree about the R8.  I bought mine around 1998 and it WAY outperforms my Ten-Tec RX340, Watkins Johnson HF-1000, and the JRCNRD545.  And that's on SW, MW, LW, WeFax, etc.  My R8 is always my go-to radio.  I had to send it to a guy a few years ago to get something fixed (a capacitor I think) and he re-calibrated it and it is like new.  Too bad they don't make them anymore.  Its all SDRs nowadays - but then again, I griped when cassettes took out 8-Tracks.
Have fun,
FPE
