Very very weak music being played at 2240z.

Seems off around 2243z.

2245 back on S7 signal. Disregard the S7 reading. I had the RF Gain up, turned off the signal drops down to S3.

Seems off at 2303.

It took me almost an hour of listening to bits and pieces of audio from this station. Finally heard the address of the memorial at 0412z.

Equipment / Palomar VLF Converter
« on: August 25, 2015, 0122 UTC »
I recently received a Palomar VLF Converter but it did not come with the power supply. I was wondering if this one would be an acceptable power supply.

Utility / Night of Nights 2015!
« on: July 13, 2015, 0115 UTC »
On 12 July 1999 some very tough looking grizzled old radio pioneers had tears in their eyes as the last commercial Morse code radiogram was sent. It was the end of an era. And as the last beeps faded away into the static they witnessed the end of the career to which they had devoted their lives.

Every year since, in an event that became known as the Night of Nights, Morse code station KPH has returned to the air, joined by KFS and the station of the MRHS, KSM.
This year our friends and colleagues at USCG station NMC have labored mightily to bring that storied call sign back to life on Morse code for the evening along with NMQ in Cambria, CA..

And station NMW in Astoria, OR will be on the air as well.

Stations WLO and KLB will join us again as hey have in years past.

Here is a link to all of the frequencies in use tonight.

Excellent signals here on:
12993
17016.8
12695
17026
12808.5
All between 0030a and 0115z.

General Radio Discussion / Anybody need a good spy radio?
« on: July 12, 2015, 0351 UTC »
Hard to tell by pictures alone but it looks like this radio is about the size of an I-Pad. Discrete enough to have in public and no one would notice.

Various types of sound effects on now. S3 in the noise could be some talk but unable to make that out.
