VG signal with "Proud to Be n American," parody of "What Love Got to Do with It," long standup comedy segment about how fat, stupid, and consumer oriented Americans are. ID by OM with e-mail address

1577
Good signal with what sounds like a parody of "Margaritaville"

1578
dance music, but too much noise from the washer & dryer to try to figure out which songs are being mixed

Just a little music & bits of talk up at 2340

Sorry to hear that. I met him at a Winter SWL Fest about 20-25 years ago & had a brief, pleasant chat.

Heard via an SDR in New York this morning: Fading out at times but heard an episode of Hallmark Playhouse with a Hallmark Card ad at the end, into Night Beat episode “The Doctor’s Daughter,” originally aired on 10/27/1950. At end, went into NBC promos. QRT part-way through the promos

Excellent signal with Irish folk music. I'm recording it, if the op's interested

Thanks! Sounds *much* better on the northern Nevada receiver than at my own QTH at 0512 UTC

Fair signal, but I have a lot of local noise down here. Maybe I should DF all of the plasma TVs in the neighborhood. A modern, sorta-ethereal rock song & one of the regular pro-sounding X-FM promos. I'm having problems being able to hear Redhat's talk--only copyable when the carrier flattens the local noise.

I think Redhat just mentioned that one listener "is intrigued but a little nervous" about tuning in to the station  :)

Excellent signal with song "Start It Up"

Pretty good signal with banjo song. CCR "Green River" Doors "Light My Fire"
SSTV in there, too. I downloaded the Black Cat SSTV program last night, but it didn't trigger, so I guess I either have it setup incorrectly or it's not automatic, like MMSSTV.

North American MW Pirate Radio / Unid: 1710 2215 UTC 26 January 2019

(Still!) laying out the Pirate Radio Annual & didn't hear anything on 43m, so I tuned 6200-6300 (nothing) & decided on a whim to check 1710. Have a station with older (maybe '50s or '60s?) country ballads coming in decently. Male DJ came up for a bit, but not quite strong enough to copy. I'm recording it now, but I might check the car to see if it's stronger there. When I came over to post the logging here, I saw the notice posted last night about the station to expect either last night or tonight. I guess this is it? Haven't heard of many country music MW band pirates.

Really faded & I'm just getting occasional bits. Around 2233, I got a few bits of a '50s pop song that I think I know, but need to hear a bit more of it to ID

2238: Sounds like some PSAs, but I'm not sure if these are the pirate or the Hudson Co. NJ TIS

2245: The Shirelles "Chapel of Love"

1588
Good signal. J Geils "First I Look at the Purse," Frank Zappa "Don't Eat the Yellow Snow"

Excellent signal. I caught the last four minutes, with talk about how the FCC will probably be back to work on Monday; how everyone likes AM, but it's a lot harder on the transmitter; how his microphonium is boomy, etc. First time I've heard Ba Ba

VG signal with Starship "We Built This City"
