Yup, and that's kinda counter-productive if you want to have listeners ...

0124z almost caught an ID ... just too much QRN

0125z  "This is Worldwide Radio ..." caught during signal peak

0135z Heard another ID, didn't copy, program continues at S2 signal with QRN peaks to S4

Just tuned up the band from 6950 and found this activity at 6960.00 kHz

Don't think I'll be able to copy any ID's on this one ... too much QRN here in Texas; we have more T-storms in-state and in OK

I've been hearing music in and out of the noise since about 0500z, about 3 hours now.  Signal is pretty weak, although there have been a lot of good peaks.  Program has been mostly hardcore/thrash type stuff with some classic rock as well.  No IDs that I've been able to hear.  Fierce static tonight with crashes to S9+.  Lots of OTHR too.

Word; you weren't kidding about the static crashes. Tough, tough copy.

WLDJ signed/gone ... but hearing a 'tweedle tweedle' sound on freq now ... and it moved up and down (VFO changed) a little bit too.

Blues or blues-rock just audible around 6950.5 AM since around 0300z. Not quite strong enough yet to ID songs or copy station IDs.
0335z: Just heard Radio Ronin Shortwave ID, e-mail address and mention of FRN. More blues, signal a little stronger now.

Listening on barefoot Magnavox D2935 portable indoors. Dunno why but this rig seems to work better than anything else I have with AM pirates.

Fair peaks occasionally, rapid fluttering fades.

Are you using the Magnavox with a loop? That can help some too ... this 756 also has some issues with AM to start with (there is a 'void' fidelity-wise, the best way I can explain it, when tuned directly onto an AM signal/the carrier freq for some reason and I don't know why ... tune off a few hundred Hz and it sounds  better, even with voice on 80 M)

Nice ... peaks to S6 in Texas ...

Frequency - a little low; had to tune to 6924.92 or so to get it to sound 'just right!'

Edit: Dyslexia on the freq

Radio Ronin Shortwave, RSS, recorded earlier - before QRN began to rule the roost and send the S/N ratio 'southward' - as he ID'd and made an announcement rounds about just after the top of the hour:

0321z QRN has picked up here in the last little bit; RSS in the area of S5 to S6 about the level of the static crashes for me ...

0301z ID: "This is ... shortwave" - there was a fade at the ... part.

Signal strength is wild - selective fading with peaks to S8 into Texas

0304z Really a pretty good sounding signal ... still experiencing some wild/selective signal fading

I would like to complement WTCR on being dead nuts on frequency, too.  :)
