Just tuned through the band & heard nice signals on 6935 USB & 6950 AM. Figured out that they were both Northwoods & came to HFU. 6935 is a bit better here. Started recording at 0107 with Jack Pine Savage talking a little & into "Nationwide" by ZZ Top. Now intro for AC/DC

Thanks much for the show!

Tuned in at 1042. Some signal here. Could hear some vocals with vibrato that with the weak signal & static, sounded to me like Iron Maiden or some band in that realm. Then hammered by a QSO by the US shrimpers (talking about how Joel's phone service is unreliable at his new apartment, red vs. white shrimp, the price of shrimp, etc.). During this time, I could hear what sounded like some intricate flute, kind of like Irish folk music.

My 1st time to actually hear Radio Totse. I left the radio on a few weeks ago & caught a pretty nice SSTV image, but the signal this morning didn't seem to be that strong.

Thanks for the show!

Down under pescadore QRM. Heard some music then an old announcement or ad that sounded like it was from the '50s. Better signal with "Psycho Killer" by the Talking Heads.
Thanks for the show!

Thanks for the logs--I'd've missed the show otherwise. Very happy to catch about the last minute with a punk song and then clear IDs
Thanks for the show & have a great evening!

Really nice signal, S9+5, but loud static crashes. Tuned in to a marijuana bit & then the original version of Black Flag "Wasted"

Yup, that's where I'm at now. For the other editions of the PRA, I've only sent out notices when the files get to the printer. I'm hopefully getting closer to the end now, but I've been swamped at work. I'll put up a notice when I get the files to the printer.

Thanks much for your interest!

Very nice signal here, much better than when I heard Whatever last summer. Didn't hear anything back from op when I e-mailed around Christmas, so I'm not sure if the old e-mail address is still good. I've been recording & have been in and out of the radio room, but I haven't heard the e-mail address yet. I see that Delta Charlie copied a gmail address, so I guess I'll need to keep listening and check the recordings.
Thanks for the show!

Thanks much to those who wrote back to me. So far, I've gotten copies of eQSLs from Blue Ocean Radio, Bogusman, Liquid Radio, Radio Ga-Ga, Turkey Breast Radio, and WPON.

While radios play a very important role in many societies especially the third world , Zimbabwean police have declared war on solar powered radios . In many African countries Zimbabwe included radio is the most important medium of communication and communities rely on it to keep themselves informed on news, local and international events. Low literacy levels and poor newspaper circulation makes dependence on newspapers negligible. The cost of a television set is beyond the reach of the majority, as many people live on less than a US$1 a day. Poor infrastructure is also another reason why people depend on solar powered radios as most rural areas have not been electrified.

On the 19th of February  2013 ,police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba told a news conference in Harare that possession and distribution of solar powered Short wave radios was illegal. She accused some opposition parties of distributing the ‘illegal devices’ to unsuspecting members of the public with the intention “to sow seeds of disharmony within the country especially now that the country is about to embark on the referendum and harmonised elections.” What followed was a series of raids on civic society organisations.
