The Helicopter noted again tonight, but in reduced signal strength and much more intermittent. On for 30-90 seconds, then off for a bit, then back on, it seems. Then changing to much longer durations of on-air. There's no clear pattern. Much lower signal strength now (in darkness) against my reception the other day (much louder, daylight) suggests a possible east coast origin.

Also S8-S9 here in the Boston burbs. Some minor interference from the "The Helicopter" (see here: http://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,10382.0.html).

Seemed like it was on for at least 15 or 20 minutes.

Pirates Week popped up at 0057 UTC. About S4 here in the Boston burbs.

S9+10 and sounding realllllly good.

Here's a clip of the whispered "Wolverine Radio" ID:

Clip here (only the EAM Girl part):

The EAM is: hey guys pirate radio rules

Cruising Sparky's ham blog, I found this. The Genesis G59, which hails from Australia. It's a transceiver, and a kit, at a pretty reasonable price.

I definitely am hearing this and it's very loud and annoying all throughout the 6900 KHz range and quite possibly beyond. It sounds like helicopter rotors beating the air.

In fact, I was listening to Powerliner on 6955 KHz and this stuff showed up, killing my reception. It's about S8 on 6955 at 2208 UTC.

Noted a weak carrier here with some music modulation. Popped into Iann's and got a confirmation from Powerliner that this is him. Only an S1 (optimistically) here. I did pull out a Powerliner ID at 2154 UTC and the signal is getting progressively stronger as sun begins to fade for me.

I also heard this, but not make out the whispered ID. It was S1 here.

About S7 here with the preamps on. Not bad. Here's a clip:
