No matter how much power an AM station is running, if you wait long enough, fading will take out all but the local stations for a bit and allow other weaker signals to come through. That one looks like a nice catch! Where are you located?

That must be a new one. I haven't heard it or even heard of it before. We're in the noisy season now but I'll give a listen.

Wolverine Radio sticks to themes on their broadcasts. If all the songs had titles with "American" or "America" in them or were about America, that was probably what they were doing for their July 4 theme broadcast. I've never known them to have any sort of announcer. They just have the "Wolverine Radio" ID every so often.

Nice signal here too at 0720Z. Frequency 3449.83. I thought I saw somewhere that it's in Arkansas?

I'm copying it quite well in central Illinois now. S5 or so with QSB at 0720Z on July 1. Frequency at the moment is 3449.83. Maybe it drifts a little with temperature?

Anyway, it's nice to hear it back.

I was wondering specifically about 7002 kHz. It has been some years since I heard the V beacon on that frequency.

I am hearing an extremely weak signal which seems to tune best on 6926 (not 6925). Voices, some music. I can barely tell it's in there so I can't even tell if it's a USB or LSB signal, but frequency is given for my rcvr in USB mode.

I copied the CW bulletin during Field Day. Our club got an extra 100 points!

Has anyone heard the "V V V V" beacon on 7002 lately? I don't think I've heard it in years and I'm afraid it's kaput.

Are these mainly FM stations? Have any shortwave pirates been fined recently? Just curious.

Was this another "Rule The Hare" transmission? Hard to make out, as the quality wasn't so good in the images posted.

Spring thunderstorm QRN is getting pretty bad here. I think we have a break, though, as a high pressure system has moved into the Midwest. Maybe I'll give a listen for a couple days. The propagation just wasn't there during most of the winter.

The one in my area is on 530 kHz. I'm only a few blocks from the antenna. I have to try to null it out with my LF loop to hear a station beneath it. But other than that it doesn't cause much interference like the AM broadcast station on 580 does.

Well, it was a blast! No Wouff Hong ceremony this year but everything else was fun. I'm still trying to get caught up on sleep ...

I'll be there. I'm driving to Dayton on Thursday morning and should be in town early-mid afternoon on Thursday. I'm going to the VHF Weak-Signal banquet on Friday evening. Also should be at the DX, Contesting and VHF forums. In the evenings I'll be mostly in the SMC hospitality suite at the Crowne Plaza and I can't miss the annual CW Pileup Competition by the KCDXC on Saturday evening.

I also hope they have a Royal Order of the Wouff Hong ceremony this year. They haven't for the last few years. I've wanted to be in on that for several decades!   ;)
