I am active on all amateur radio bands through 24 GHz (with 47 GHz on the way). Hopefully my signals on 902 MHz and above don't cause any inadvertent interference to cell phones, GPS and Wi-Fi.

Fortunately my favorite operating place for microwave bands is on a hilltop in the middle of the vast farmland, 10 miles from the nearest small town. I cause no interference to my own cell phone but on 1296 MHz I wipe out my own GPS unit. But that's just a few feet away.

At 0410Z till now (0422Z) I hear pescadores on that frequency, USB. HOooooooo-la.

228
Could be pescadores. I'm also hearing SSB signals around 6941 and 6948 kHz (USB). They may be LSB signals for all I know; static is so loud here I can't even tune in to them.

Noise here is horrendous. I hear a male voice on USB in amongst the static crashes. Very weak, S0-S1.

231
Thanks! Looks like it's Alex Vranes, not Alex Brains. He hasn't posted anything under the name Hilltopper at FRN since 2007. I wonder who he got so upset and how?

Thanks! I'll give that a try.

I listened to the recording I made a couple times. The person talking referred to what sounded like "Alex Brains" also known as "Hilltopper" "who has family in West Virginia and Maryland." I have not seen any postings by anyone called Hilltopper. So it's a mystery to me.

Signing on with "Jammin'" Bob Marley. Not strong, maybe S3 or so, lot of QSB.

235
Just tuned in. Weak signal, S2, seems to be in progress. From the voice pitch maybe WBNY? I'm not sure, it's higher pitched than the typical male voice. I hear just talk, no music. Talking about FRN, "Alex Brains(?) is a piece of shit," "Alex Brains(?) is an asshole" etc.

Whatever it is, I don't find it funny.

Another signal (voice) in the background. Much weaker.

I just realized this transmission is most likely about Alex_In_West_Virginia. Dude, I feel for you. If this is what you have to contend with, I can understand your wanting to give up.

Someone making an attempt to jam transmission at 0356Z. Station disappeared at 0400Z. I have a partial recording.

Well, Illegitimi Non Carborundum!   ;D

I've done some listening to pirate radio stations over the last 10 years or so (at least) and I am still having fun with it. I've had a little more time to listen lately than I have had in the past. I hope it stays fun for me.

Not a peep heard here. Nothing whatsoever. Guess I'm in the wrong part of the country for this one.

HF Beacons / Re: Dashes on 13559.8 kHz
« on: March 19, 2012, 0141 UTC »
Thanks for the link! The dashers I heard are not on that list. I'm still curious about them.

My good friend Garry K3SIW near Elgin, IL runs the SIW beacon on 13555.44. The RIX beacon here in Champaign is not on the air now and I haven't heard it in some time.

Missed ID at first.

Signing on with a mix of "Who Are You" and some other song. Signal stronger than most tonight, S5 to S7 on peaks. Now going into "I Need A Love" by Rolling Stones.

Copied the ID second time!

Lots of mashes of various songs as listed by others below (Thanks!) plus a couple of hiccups of jumping backwards in a song.

Abruptly disappeared at 0143Z.

Thanks for great show, Captain!
