VG signal, but static crashes and a lot of atmospherics. Not sure, but possibly another REM song
"'Let Her Cry' right here on 6925 . . ."
"I am a total predator and I am a . . ."
Eric Carmen "Hungry Eyes," complaining about propagation tonight, Paul Anka "Put Your Head on My Shoulder"
I haven't heard any IDs as "Radio 69"--everything since I tuned in at 0447 has been "right here on 6925" or "6925 kiloherz U-S-B"
Shoutouts to some of the loggers here, Lionel Ritchie "Easy," Simple Minds "Don't You (Forget about Me)," SSTV & off

92
excellent signal at 0049

93
VG/excellent "SSTV transmission will begin . . . now"

94
Great to see you back, Pigmeat!

HUGE signal with jazz at tune in on 6880 & now reggae on 6917

Nice to see so many people tuning in and logging. Wonder if this show will hit page 4? Still a huge signal here at almost 0200 with a wide variety of music genres from Radio 48

Some music making it through. Sounds flutey. Maybe Jethro Tull? Guess I should check the W3HFU KiwiSDRs to see the signal's good enough there to ID the songs

<later> Wow, the signal's *so much* better on Chris' 500' NE Beverage . . . and I wasn't even close with my initial artist guess

Clash "Rock the Casbah," Queen "Under Pressure," Kim Carnes "Bette Davis Eyes," Harold Faltermeyer "Axel F," Simply Red "Holding Back the Years,"

Gone on my receiver, but still decent on the W3HFU 500' NE Beverage with "With a Little Help from My Friends" at 2232

Chuck Berry "Johnny B. Goode," Steve Miller "Abracadabra," Little Richard "Keep a Knockin'"

General Radio Discussion / Memorial wall?
« on: February 15, 2025, 2133 UTC »
I'm not a member of the AudioKarma board and I only ran into some of its threads while running a search on some old tubes, but I saw that they collect memorial threads of their deceased members onto a "wall" and thought it sounded like a nice idea for HFU. Here's their page: https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/audiokarmas-memorial-wall-members-who-have-passed.844456/

Excellent with Kansas "Carry on My Wayward Son" & "Point of No Return," The Knack "My Sharona," Edgar Winter "Frankenstein"

99
Good with what sounds kind of like an '80s pop song

100
Perfect signal with dance music

"Goodbye, thanks for listening, and have a pleasant tomorrow" at QRT

Noted in passing mid-guitar solo with a VG signal. I recorded the 6930 station instead because the announcer was talking . . . and I thought I might have a chance to record some of this one later, but they both signed off at about the same time

102
VG/Excellent with some fades. Tuned in to male DJ talking about different websites, etc. Kind of a "public radio"-type voice. Said shows are on archive.com

Talked about a sponsor that I think was called "Small-Time Media," then off mid-sentence

103
Good with Survivor "Eye of the Tiger," Kenny Loggins "Danger Zone," Blue Swede "Hooked on a Feeling"

I know these three songs are in the playlist of Good Times Radio and in this order. Wonder if it'll ID this time?

pharrell williams "Happy"

To answer my question: Nope, no ID

104
Excellent signal. I tuned in during James Brown "I Feel Good" & ZZ Top "Legs"

105
Sounded like Asian music at 1318 (made me feel like I was tuning into a morning fade-in of a Chinese regional), but into a rock song at 1319. Thought it sounded distorted at 1319, but audio sounded cleaner at 1321. Fair with long, deep fades
